Description This is a logo for a Youth baseball team. I've designed several colored versions of this logo. Some having more detail, others less.

UPDATE: The last version was rejected. The commissioner wanted a synthese between the old and new logo head. So I tried implementing it into the existing style. It's more mean now. I hope you still like it!

As Fantasy Sports Alliance gets ready to launch into a full blown membership organization next year, we are beginning our search for graphic artists to help with team logos. Chris Smith, our current graphic artist, will still remain our business, regional logo, and t-shirt designer. However, with the expansion we are expecting over the next few years, we know Chris will not be able to keep up with that many logos.

In our effort to find these new graphic artists, we are holding a TOURNAMENT OF LOGOS! These logos will be non-commissioned work and will allow the artists to showcase their talents.

There are a few ground rules that must be followed:

* DO NOT STEAL ARTWORK. No copying or tracing. No clipart. No adapting existing designs. No "borrowing." Create something original and distinctive!

* Entries must be submitted via email to pres_fsa@yahoo.com

* Valid entries will include at least a PRIMARY LOGO, SECONDARY LOGO and a WORDMARK.

* Please submit the final work as vector artwork (PDF/AI) or high-resolution JPG and PNG formats.

* Include your FIRST AND LAST NAME as well as any additional contact information in the email.

* Finally, by submitting artwork, you agree to grant Fantasy Sports Alliance (FSA) rights to use it in conjunction with all FSA-related projects and publications.

If you know of anyone who might be interested in doing this, please forward this message and have them contact us at pres_fsa@yahoo.com to let us know they are interested in beginning the TOURNAMENT OF LOGOS with FSA.

Thank you in advance for your time.

The "Downers Grove" part is Myriad Pro.. The "Dragons" font I created myself.

I tink the final looks great. Although I'm no sports enthusiast, I think it's one of the best avenues for limitless graphic design. You get to do fun logos that other industries would never ask for, so it must be a nice experience. I can see the time it must have took to refine this, it's very clean. I love the presentation as well, very much like a snapshot from a sports broadcast, right before they show the highlights or something lol. Can't see anything at all wrong with it, maybe just the text for "Downers Grove" looks like it was Myriad Pro? I'm not a big fan of the default fonts, though sometimes they do work. Overall the piece is great, nice addition to any portfolio .

I indeed love sports logos for their freedom! And Yes It's Myriad Pro! It's not really original but it does the job.

Thanks for your great feedback!

Yeah I would agree, I think Myriad Pro's soft curves helps to give that casual feel, something I feel is akin to baseball. But since it's all in upper case it doesn't become too subdued. But it certainly doesn't get used right all the time!

Besides the lines on the ball that seem off (but what do I know, I"m european and we hardly do baseball ) it looks very convincing as a team's logo.

note to self: check nationality before makeing semi-witty remark.. Want mijn statement is natuurlijk redelijk onzinnig in dit geval. Noja.. het punt was dat normaliter de curve van elkaar aflopen bij een honkbal bal.
