Oh please not Naavi, I don't think there is anyone here who didn't wish for marine victory. A much better ending would have been if the protagonist told his story from a prisoncell back on Earth, in his human body and still in a wheelchair, while there was nothing but smoldering remains of the Naavi back on Endor.

But you gotta admit that the crippled protagonist being interviewed in a dark prison-cell on Earth, all the while Endor, or whatever they called that moon, having its ecosystem totally destroyed so they could mine all that precious unobtainium.

well no, the canon ending is the downer ending, just like in Star Wars.
In my version Darth Vader was on Endor with a much larger regiment, that proves why storm troopers are elite imperial soldiers, because there is no way they could lose to a primitive bearlike race (whose name have never been mentioned and will forever remain a mystery) that attracted them with sticks and stones.
Oh and on the new Death Star mr. super annoying drama queen dies.
But honestly, in order to make star wars decent, the whole thing would have to have been rewritten, unlike Avatar whose first part was adequate, and only became horrible when mr cripple became mr super naavi.
- Anyway the first change I would make to Star Wars would have been to give the role if Luke to John Candy, he have a more chubby-funny guy-sidekick character that I am going for, but beyond him I would reuse the same actors.
- The next thing is Lea, she should be the actual super kickass leader of the revolution, instead of merely being an annoying damsel in distress. She should also be a dark jedi and wield two purple lightsabers, because a duelwilding swordmaster is just way cooler then using just one sword.
- Next we have Solo, his pirating and smuggling operation should be much more explicit. And we should also see some negative effects on this, like people living in shanties being way high on the "stardust" that we know he provided them with.
- We would of course also need to make the storm troopers way stronger. Their armor should be practically inpenetrable to anything but say a lightsaber, and their aim should be deadly precise.
-We also need to make them more personal. It must be made clear that they for the most part are conscripted men, men with wives, mothers and children, and to help underline this I want to introduce two named stormtroopers who takes their helmets off on occasions. These should also primarily be comic relief characters, (think Laurel and hardy).
The main point is to divert the dangerous black-white vision that star wars can endure, and make it more complex and both sides morally grey.
The empire brings good thing like Order, peace and economic prosperity, but at the cost of personal freedom, witch the rebel fight for, but in so doing also brings a lot of chaos with them.
"Who is in the wrong here?" is a question that can't really be answered, and fans will be evenly divided between rebel and empire, and between jedi and sith in who the bad guys really are.

These should also primarily be comic relief characters, (think Laurel and hardy). really? that is fucking stupid i mean it would be fine if it was see in say a Red vs blue but in star wars that be way too friggin ooc. three you never read either the legendverse or canonverse stuff of star wars you would know damn well Han saw some of the bad stuff in the criminal underworld when he was just a smuggler. and four again if you were watching star wars you would know the empire has a we have a reserve mindset to things due to literally have a WHOLE galaxy size of resources with one guy explaining it as such.

and 5 with the whole showing a human side to the stormtrooper they already done that with the storm trooper predecessor the clone troopers in the clone wars series showing that there not organic droids and made the whole order 66 thing WAY more tragic.
6) let me point something out about leia (The damsel in distress you find disgusting) She manages to hold out against Vader's interrogation techniques, snarks Luke when he barges into her holding cell, Improvises an escape when the boys manage to get everyone trapped, tries her darndest to thwart the bounty sale of Han after he gets carbonited, and endures Go-Go Enslavement at the hands of the wonderfully charming Jabba The Hutt in order to be in the prime position to kill him when all hell breaks loose (Via choking the fat slug to death with her chain till he dies.) So yes, while she does not wield any lightsaber in the original series She's not a wallflower, sir.
7) and finally you would replace Mark hamill with John candy? seriously? the more i answer your stuff, it feels like someone trying to sell me a script to Spaceball 2 (And compare to it's predecessor it sucks.)
