Description Since I joined DA I perceived stock artists as my air and water. I always thought they sacrifice so much time, money and effort to inspire us to make wonderful art. But what happens when time after time we come across amazing stock photos or breathtaking models that look like finished art by themselves? Lately I have been stumbling across rebottled ideas. Without a doubt the long gowns are the most common stock element in here. Like I said, we love it but there is a limit to how many times we can see the same edit with the lady by the sea sitting on the arch with the huge moon above. Stock models should be more that just our building blocks. They should be our muses, inspiring new ideas all the time driving us to make more every day. I would like our major models from time to time to roll in the mud short of speak. I would love to see stock sessions that the expression of the model would be the focus rather then her beautiful gown or dress.

So to lighten the mood I made this. Since Lady Elandia and all other stock princesses refuse to β€œroll in the mud” for arts sake, DA artist have specially trained gators that will attack all amazing model outfits who try the classic stock photo sessions by the water. As we speak the stock model gators are placed on lakes, waterfalls, fivers and fountains all over the world to reduce the remaking of the same ideas over and over.

I enjoy seeing what you do with my stock i must say
And hmmmm im sure there are many people that would enjoy watching me roll around in the mud, but i expect very few of them have particularly pure thoughts or motives whilst doing it
and its finding someone in my area. Its usually me who is expected to take pictures of people!

The way I see it the only unique piece was the beautiful hand made gown but even that is not any more.

I agree, makes me sad when people think stock is "too perfect" and get put off by it. So yer, they either make no effort at all, or it inspires them to push the boundaries.

I am more than happy to go against the norm. I've waded in knee deep puddles in dresses, and even in this shoot got nice and wet in the big fountain ^^

I like this manip, made me laugh

It's not that she refuses, it's just not her style. But I'm sure, if challenged, she'd do just that She actually creates her own gowns, so maybe she gets bloody fingers from some of them? Who knows.

Don't worry, I'm just making light of it too.

She emphatically states she DOES get pricked fingers and blood on her dresses

And I'm not afraid to ruin dresses by standing in big puddles or even scummy fountains for that matter lol

Yea. Style is good but also style leans towards something permanent. We need the opposite of style. We need things to be different then the last time the time before that. It is very admirable to be able to make your own outfits but being so good at it there is nothing mush for us to edit later on. That is why often you see artists reposting stock photos with only minor filter editing. They figure that it looked nice to begin with so they don’t put much effort in to it. What do you think?

Every stock artist offers something different. The main reason is because every artist who views it gets a much different idea. One artist might borrow the dress and add it to a different woman. One might use the model and the dress but change the color. One might need the hands. You really never know what someone will do with just one stock piece. For instance, I've posted christmas bows and that's been used in so many different things. It was even turned into a tie!

But I like to give a huge variety in my stock. That's my style. Some might be experts in fantasy stock, others in action stock. It depends on what that person loves. I support stock artists doing what they love, because that means they'll work their hardest. Now, what the other artist does, that depends on what kind of effort he/she is willing to put in. Sometimes I see a stock artist wearing an outfit that I needed them to wear, which is helpful. I might not edit the figure because it's what I was looking for. So, you really never know what someone who draws wants, or if it'll even be a photo editor.
