Description A man may live after losing his life
but not after losing his honor

So says the Irish proverbs - and it felt incredibly appropriate for this

Okay, I'll admit, I was WAY way lazy with this. I just didn't want to bother fiddling with the background.. and I PROBABLY should have done more with Thane's coffin.. but meh. I wanted the focus to be mostly on Shepard anyway. On her, and her misery.

Why an Irish proverb? Because I've decided that my Shep is Irish in heritage >_> Earth kiddy. Irish. Named Maggie

No, this isn't really "cannon" in my ME2 FemShep universe. But I wanted to draw it anyway, because it's a concept that's been buzzing around in my brain for a while.

After the brave face, the congradulations, and the decisions are made, how will she feel once she gets a moment to mourn?

Personally, I'd ball my eyes out.

Poor Thane D:

I want to fav your art but I can't! I do love the art, the lines are clean the light streaming in, love it. The thought of losing Thane, I am not ready. I know some day he will die but in my world, I want that day to be in the misty future. When he's surrounded by his grand kids with Kolyat and his wife standing with him. I have to admit, with my Shepard sitting next to him. That too me is how it should end but... we'll see. Love it though.

This happen to me only once with Grunt. While he's far from a favorite I felt terrible when Shepard looked over at the casket, I instantly reloaded and made things better.

Anyway yes Thane's passing would be quite emotional, especially considering how Shepard must work up a way to tell Kolyat.

On my first playthrough, Legion ended up dying (I blame Miranda). I have yet to beat it on a new character (Maggie's actual character) but I'm bound and determined to do it right this time.

Yeah, I'd imagine notifying Kolyat about it would be doubly difficult for her, not just for the obvious reason, but because she'd probably have to allude to the idea that his father was involved with another woman. That'd be a Hell of pill to swallow, poor thing.

Yeah I can imagine that being tough. My Shepard never romanced him for that reason though, sure he may be a tad bit lonely but she'd feel horrible for "stealing" him from the memory of his wife. She's kind like that.

Haha, my Shepard was very selfish in that respect XD Come Hell or High Water, she was gonna tap that. Fo' Sho'. heee.

*sniffle* Aw! It's so stark and sad. Shep is drawn really well--I love the boots and all the folds in her pants.

Thane's story is quite tragic, I must admit. And, as usual, tragedy produces good art.

Thank you. I might go back and actually do some real work on the background and what not, but I'm glad you like it for what it is atm.

And yeah. I'm a sucker for characters rife with tragedy. My favorite thing about Thane in that respect is that he isn't really all that angsty about it. Once he reconnects with Kolyat, it's like he doesn't have a problem in the world. He doesn't let his impending death change him or his love for Shepard. <3
