Description When I headed from offline to online on Monster Hunter Tri, I was sporting the Bnahabra armor set. Needless to say, I stayed with it for a long while, up until I decided on switching to Barioth armor (I was only after the head piece in the beginning, but I might as well create the rest of the set to match, right?). I took a great liking to the Barioth, both monster and armor, as the HR progressed, so far that I defeated both Alatreon and Deviljho in the armor set (not armor+, either).

And so, as Monster Hunter 3 Portable has come around, I decided to make a Barioth-themed PSP. These are just some sketches to brainstorm on what to possibly do.

PS - I sucketh on lineart.

PPS - Drawing scales is very therapeutic...

These drawings are amazing, and I could only dream of also doing a digital painting like you have here o.o

Barioth is my ultimate favourite monster from the games, I try to draw him sometimes and actually I've been trying to make a giant toy version of it I hope you dont mind, but this is a wonderful reference image and I've continued to look back to it occasionally.
I'm sure you know how difficult it is to find a clear image of Bari that isn't the official one, sp from me thank you for creating this amazing piece of art and no you don't suck at line art~

Thank you for your kind words, and no, I do not mind you using this as a reference. I would love to see your finished piece once you are done with it.

If you want I can post a picture or two but, he's a bit shapeless at the moment

Wow! I love the detail you can pack into small drawings. It looks as if it just came right from the game itself!
You've definitely done justice to an awesome monster, heck, you've done better than the original!
Too bad you ran out of RAM, i'd love to see this finished!

Very nice. I love how you captured all the detain of his fur and scales. Barioth is one of the best monsters, hands down in my opinion

Thank you. I did not think I would be drawing all those scales, but I ended up being drawn into doing so. >>; As for the fur, I do not remember the Barioth having fur during the fighting, but I do remember the Barioth armor sporting some around the lower areas.

Yes, Barioth does have fur. It's along his underside and his forearm and wings.
