March 2017Read my first post to learn more about this project.
When it comes to NES sprites there's not a whole lot of room to innovate. MOTHER was interesting because it let you use separate palettes for the top and bottom halves of a character, like Ninten and Pippi here. Something to note is that the top halves of all these sprites are symmetrical, so theoretically it'd be possible to fit each of them in 12 8x8 tiles. I'd have to see once I start hacking!
