Description
The sixth task for the 17th session of Enjoyment: Find a partner and draw your OC's engaged in their favorite activity in the company of your partner's OC. This time I didn't pair up with anyone because the enjoyment was too complicated, so you'll just get Tiernan with Sharisse and Rose
The first picture on the left is Tiernan dancing with Sharisse. He loves dancing but has to use his magic since she's so short that dancing isn't very enjoyable for her normally, but this way she gets to look him in the face rather than his stomach The proportions are so bad on this, but I was rushed. Not sure I like how I drew Sharisse but I'm still getting the hang of her body type
Sharisse was simply focused on keeping time and not tripping up her taller companions when she felt an unexpected tap on her shoulder.
She stopped and looked up. Behind her was the Healer, smiling and dressed in something that obviously had been created by the local tailor. It was bright and colorful, but the colors all looked good on the healer, like he knew how to dress himself. If the tailor had been left to his own devices the color combination would have been far gaudier. She stared at him in confusion, not understanding what he was doing in the dance ring.
“May I have this dance?” He held out his hand, his smile broad and slightly mischievous.
She just stared, unable to get any words of affirmative or denial out for a long time. She finally managed, “How?”
“Take my hand and I’ll show you.” His grin widened, his eyes twinkling with mischief now.
She tentatively held out her hand but not quite offering it to him, still looking like she couldn’t believe what was happening. “Don’t you dare pick me up.”
“I wouldn’t dream of it. At least, not in my arms. You will be able to dance on your own two feet, at my eye level.” He grinned and held out his hand a bit further. “I will do nothing that will make you feel embarrassed. I love you too much to do anything of the sort.”
Her mouth dropped open in complete shock at his statement, “You can’t be serious.”
“As serious as any Wizard-Healer can be. In fact, I PROMISE that I will treat you with nothing but respect. And I must keep all my promises since I am a wizard.” He bowed low. “Take my hand and let me prove my sincerity, Sharisse Milner.”
She wasn’t sure if it was his expression or his words, but something made her take his hand. Suddenly she felt like she was rising from the ground, but there was still something solid under her feet. She looked down in surprise and saw there was a warm yellow glow under her, like she had her own ground that was raising her up so that she could be at eye level with Tiernan. “What is going on?” She didn’t release his hand for fear of falling.
He smiled, putting one hand lightly around her waist, holding her other hand up in the proper dance position that she never could manage with anyone unless they were holding her like a child. “I’m simply making sure that you and I are at the same level, for ease of dancing.” He twirled her carefully, letting her get a feel for what she was “standing” on. “It’s a spell that a lot of wizards use when they want to get a bit higher to reach something, seemed the right one to use in this case. It’s directly connected to your feet so there is no possibility of falling. You step anywhere and you’ll be on something solid enough to hold you up. Now, do you know the courtship dance?”
“I do know it.” She was still staring at him in disbelief. “Are you sure about this?”
“Didn’t I make my intentions clear?” His smile faded slightly, “What can I do to convince you?”
His expression did more to convince her than any other action. The fact that he looked hurt that she didn’t believe him, “I guess I’m convinced.” She smiled despite her misgivings. She really did like the man, and he was just too adorable at the moment. “Let’s do this and show everyone what a good dancer I am.”
He grinned widely again, “I promise that we will do just that.”
The second picture on the right is Tiernan enjoying the first real food he's had in nearly a year and a half, and also the company of a lovely lady added to the mix. He's at The Flower Shoppe, and that's Rose behind him, watching him with both amusement and dismay, worried about how thin he is and hoping she can help remedy that situation. This is Tiernan at his thinnest, he's survived a full winter on his own with nothing but his abilities keeping him fed. No wonder he's so happy to be eating food that was cooked by someone else
Tiernan got up out of the bed after the servers left and looked at the food in amazement. Rose chuckled as he tasted everything before starting to eat with a gusto Rose had never seen.
Rose ate her food with far more decorum, amused at how Tiernan approached both sex and eating similarly, obviously starved for both. “Are you finding it to your liking?”
Tiernan grinned happily, “If I could live here I would. Best meal I have had in ages!”
Rose chuckled, “The rent would be rather high. Though, if you’re serious, I’m sure we could work something out.”
Tiernan shook his head, “No. I cannot. It is too dangerous.” He slowed down his eating so he could enjoy the food. “Where I live is safe and no one will get hurt if they find me.”
Rose slid up next to him, “So, you isolate yourself to protect others. Noble, but not too bright if you starve to death and do the High King’s work for him.”
“I will not starve. I am still figuring things out but I will not starve.”
