If the hat was too heavy, than it would really hurt. I'm thinking that the hat weighs less than a kilogram, and if a little girl were to fall for the trap, she might as well wear the hat.

Yep. The Sandman series. Amazing books. Well, graphic novels, but whatever. They're written by Neil Gaiman and illustrated by a plethora of other people...but Gaiman gets all the glory XP Death and Dream are siblings, hence why they look similar ^^
