Thank you!!! ... .. . This is a 40 frame infinite loop gif... I really got on track when I began doing 18 frame infinite loop gifs... then 20 frame ... now I am exploring the possibilities of 40 frames... .. . The great advantage of the 40 frame gifs is that it makes it a lot easier to do multiple color shift speeds... mostly what I do is a lot of semi-transparent frames that I merge together... If you ever saw the original "Karate Kid", this is a Lot of "Wax On Wax Off" ... .. . One of my greatest difficulties is maintaining focus while I do 200/400 almost repetitive actions... It is getting easier to see now how the 3 basic divisions, ( Background, Mid-ground, Foreground ) will move together in my mind before I begin drawing... which saves time... .. .Not as fast as Dreaming all the steps beforehand, but that is really too rare, though really fun...To count on...Β
I use the"Gimp 2.8" drawing program... it has more bells and whistles than I will ever use...someday I should go through the tutorials, But for some reason reading directions gives me serious brain fog...Β  I started drawing with a mouse, then got a draw tablet, then wore the nib on the stylus all away and have been back using an optical mouse again for the last year or so... There is some difference with how the images grow, but they still grow... .. . After you get it into muscle memory so all you need to do is think the line and it happens, there is not very much difference... .. .
... My Goal is to someday make a gif with enough visual density that one can look at it for 30 Min. and still feel that you have not seen everything that is happening in the image... That and to perfect the Hypnotic effects so that I can take control of the Worlds Cookie Production... .. . Goals are good, but... The Journey IS The Thing ... .. .

Woah, such a detailed explaination. It can't be easy doing something like this. I've been wanting to learn how to create gifs, but I could never properly do oneΒ Β

You can ... You should... You can make them as simple as two frames or as complicated as " Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" ... .. . If you use something like "Gimp" ...which is free online... the drawing programs have lots of bells and whistles, that make some complex looking effects easy to do... or ... when you get comfortable with the tools... you can see how much complexity you can squeeze into your gif... .. . For me the best way to learn, is to do... it may just be a guy thing, but, I still haven't gone through the Gimp tutorials to see how to use the program... .. .

Gimp is where I do my digital drawings, but I didn't know it had the gif option. For a free program, it's quite complexΒ Β

I don't think that I will ever explore all the possibilities of GIMP, but you should do some gifs... .. . The nice thing about drawing with the computer is the only mistake you can make is to forget to save... everything else just opens up new possibilities ... .. .Β  with my short term memory problems I am constantly asking myself " How the Heck did I do THAT ? ??? ? ? " ... .. .

I always save constantly to avoid precisely that. I'm still very new to GIMP, so I know I'm missing too much of it's potential. Now that I know it can make gifs, I will find tutorials that can help me. I have my own style, but I like to be varied and challenge myself when I have the time

Well, don't wait too much. I may take a long while before I learn how to do it properlyΒ Β

Don't worry about doing a perfect gif... at first you just need to get the process and tool use into muscle memory... then all you have to do is think of what you want the gif to do , and the steps line up without a lot of brain work... .. .Β

Well, I better find a decent tutorial that will help me understand the program better.

Yea!!!... You are gonna have SO much fun !!!... .. . Remember, Mistakes show opportunities that you would not think of... Try to figure out how to use or duplicate the event before correcting ( if you decide to) sometimes it is more fun , just to incorporate error.... ... .. . I call my mistakes "Oops!"... other people have called them "Creative" ... .. . I try not to fess up ... Illusion is an important aspect in "Art"... .. .
