Blame Kathy for convincing me to color this silly picture.This took about... 4-5 hours?
Photoshop.
Experimentation.
I think it came out well.
EDIT: Made things a bit more finished.

I absolutely adore the shadows in this, and how they accent the creature's facial features. The soft glowing blues against the brown tones are very nicely executed, and it gives off a warm feeling rather than a cool one. Nice work!

I love how unique this view on mother earth is. Generally she's always portrayed as this beautiful woman, but this is fantastic and a really refreshing ^^ Beautifully rendered as well, I especially like her hands and spine.

I think this is a really pretty piece. Only problem I see is with the bendiness of the arm; I think it would've worked better if something else in the visible design was bendy (say, torso or neck?). Other than that I really like this.
