Hey Nikki, you're gorgeous without the retouch, but I think you should learn to do this yourself and consider doing it on ALL of your self portraits.
In photos, the eye is drawn to even the tiniest imperfections for some stupid reason. I always wondered why even Sports Illustrated models are Photoshopped so heavily. But being on dA, since forever, has made me see the reasoning.
Your eyes are much more beautiful than some freckle on your arm!

I do need to learn how to retouch better, but I don't think I will do it to all of my images. I've got a "thing" about being real. If it's so photoshopped it doesn't even look like me anymore, it doesn't feel right to me! If someone has a problem with it because there's an imperfection they need a harsh reality check. Nothing in life is perfect so why should photography be any different? That's exactly the problem with society! Young girls looking at a magazine full of "perfect" models and they begin to judge themselves because they aren't perfect. What they don't realize is someone took hours fixing up the models face so it would look that good!
I totally appreciate your comment and I hope I didn't make you feel like I'm bashing your idea! That's not it at all, I agree my images should be fixed up to a point. I always get rid of my blemishes, but much beyond that doesn't feel right to me.

I think girls worry more about not being thin than they do about not being perfect.
