It's adorable! Also, when you mentioned the Primal Weather abilities (Primordial Sea, Desolate Land and Delta Stream), I immediately pictured Merrigald standing on Primal Groudon's head, each Pokemon boosted to absurd degrees of power by the other's Sunlight effect(s).

This is such a clever idea. I don't know why game freak don't choose to invite teams of people to create their own pokemon.
At most, Game Freak should be able to fit up to 4096 pokemon max, once cartridges are able to fit that much data into their ROM files, anyway.

I've always wanted a Fire/Grass combo. It's actually pretty good at covering bases. Grass loses weaknesses to Ice, Bug, and Fire, and Fire loses weaknesses to Water and Ground. Pretty good.

A little worry i have is following:
Merrigalds's Second Signature Move "Sol Bursa", is it really beneficial for Merrigald to have this move being grass-type?
It is STAB, follows its theme but for the sole sake of variety i think this being a fire-type move would make Merrigald even stronger.
Having 2 different STAB attacks opens up a better offence against different enemies.
Long story cut short: My idea is to change Sol Bursa into a firy-type attack.
It makes Merrigald usefull in more situations. (= praisin' tha sun even more often as before! )

Dragonith In reply to DarkFishking [2016-08-28 07:04:58 +0000 UTC]
You make it sound like Merrigald can't learn Fire-type attacks. ._.
Whereas Solar Fleur sets up the sun, Sol Bursa gets powered up by it. Solar Fleur can't deal insane Grass-type damage like Sol Bursa can, in addition to a chance of burning the target. That's another appeal I like about the move. It's a Grass-type version of Scald + Brine (unlike Brine, this is weather dependent). If I changed it to Fire-type it'd just be another Fire-type move with a twist.
Also to clarify, Merrigald's signature move is Solar Fleur. That move is exclusive to it. Sol Bursa however can be learned by other Pokemon, hence why it's just labelled as a 'New Move'.

Ok.
This is just the stuff i have been thinking about.
But a little question is left: Why exactly is Solar Fleur grass-type instead of fire?
This question is a lot more neutral than the one before.

Think of it more like Solar Beam/Solar Blade. It's not so much fire being used rather a very bright beam of light.

If you need stats for this one: 70/70/65/110/95/70 = 480. This makes it a good special attacker with alright bulk and a seemingly average Speed stat, but that can be patched up by Chlorophyll. Tried to balance this one out well enough; hope I've succeeded in that.
Edited a bit to go with your words of it not being physically fantastic. Still keeping it balanced, though. No min-maxing.

\[T]/ Praise the sun, my friend!
Whatcha' say about 70/45/85/110/80/95=485?
High enough for a Pokemon whose role is slighltly offensive support, with a decent sized increase in HP(You can't have it as a glass cannon, really, if it's kit is based on survival for more than a turn), lower physical attack(Solitl was built as an all-rounder, meanwhile this one has much more of a focus, besides you sad it, it's physical offense sucks), 85 and 80 in both defenses respectively, a good enough amount that doesn't excel, physical slightly higher so that it can Maaaaaybe live a flying move, since they're mostly physical, good SPAtk, and a speed that allows it to outspeed many a Pokemon, but still not too high in builds not based on chlorophyl.

Dragonith In reply to SerpensVolucer [2016-08-26 07:30:57 +0000 UTC]
By 'physical pressure', I meant both its ATK and DEF stats lol. It isn't good at using physical moves or taking hits from them. Everything else looks solid though.
Will need to review the other BSTs I've been provided as well.

something something praise the sun
75/70/70/115/100/85 (BST 515)
Bleh, the stat spread of the prevo makes this hard to make. Considering it can't evolve until mid-to-lategame, I think a BST total of 515 is pretty fair, especially for a non-minmaxed stat spread. 75/70/100 defensive stats plus a nice typing means it can take a few special moves, and 115 SpA is more than enough in the sun. 85 Speed is actually not bad for a Chlorophyll abuser, so there's that. That, and I don't actually see this mon that fast.

Omg, this is such a beautiful design. I love it! Lol.
Anyway, you know why I'm here (besides for the Pokemon), time for a BST!
BST -- 70/50/55/125/95/95 = 490
I decided not to go too complex in my stat distributions for this one but looking at your description I think these stats really suit it. You explained that it "falls under physical pressure" so I decided to give it a low base Defence stat along with its average HP so this one won't be taking too many physical hits. On the other hand, it's Special stats are pretty good, with slightly above average Sp. Defence and phenomenal Sp. Attack. Its Speed tier isn't too shabby either, outpacing various threats such as Porygon-Z and Tentacruel if ran with a Timid Nature. You can also decide to run Modest if you feel like you know your opponent is going to bring a Speed benefiting nature if they're in a lower Speed tier. However, while its Speed tier is decent it is still outsped by plenty of Pokemon such as Terrakion and the Latis as long as they're rocking Jolly and Timid respectively.
And, as always, if you have any issues with this distribution, just make sure to tell me.

Actually, when I looked back at Sotilil I noticed that its Attack and Defence is better than Marrigald so I'm going to update the BST:
BST: 70/65/70/125/95/95 = 520
I feel like this BST is more suitable because you said you get it mid-game and it will take a while to get its happiness full and find a Sun Stone so I decided to make it worth it. The only differences made here were its Attack and Defence stat so it matches up better with Sotilil. I decided not to change Attack at all from Sotilil because it doesn't need it and it got a 5 point buff to its Defence. Everything else is the same.

I also forgot to mention that if under sun with Chloryphyll it outspeeds the entire metagame barring Scarfers. Also, I forgot to mention it only outspeeds Tentacruel if Tentacruel has a Modest nature, whoops.

PRAISE THE FUCKIN' SUN!
THE DARK SOULS MEMES ARE COMING!
Now time to be real:
I do not like the coloring of the shiny version.
Personally, the only real reason i can see to hope for a shiny version is if one is obsessed with the prestige.
Otherwise, the normal version looks MUCH better.
The normal version has various stages of orange which resembles fire, the sun etc.
The shiny version just looks random with no theme behind it.
Yes, it is kinda yellow but that really is it.
It is what i think.
The recoloring of a shiny actually opens up possibilites for some really fuckin' nito gimmicks.
The first thing came in my mind was to color shiny Merrigald in the colors of Solair.
You already began with the memes so it would not be completly out of place to color Merrigald that way.
It is your decision but i hope i made myself understandable.

Dragonith In reply to DarkFishking [2016-08-26 07:13:19 +0000 UTC]
Well, the blue and yellow on the poncho are definitely not random. They're consistent with its pre evolution's colors. Thematically though, yes there isn't really a theme here for the shiny, especially in regards to the pink and yellow on the face and hat/dress. Was having issues deciding on what colors to use there.
Regardless, I can try to use Solaire's colors here, but it's obvious I can't make it completely resemble him given how the colors are arranged. This should be better colors than the last palette at least, imo.
