"Over a year ago, a client of ours owed me a favor for spotting them when they were in a pinch. This took some funds out of FUSE Corp's excess pool, so it wasn't too large of a loss. However, the client was insistent on keeping their word, and after one, two, maybe a dozen run-ins with the Pokemafia later, they repaid the debt they owed. In all honesty, I forgot about the favor entirely. Completely glazed my mind. However, I accepted the payment regardless. They seemed to be pale faced (most likely due to whatever the Pokemafia was expecting of them in-exchange), so I decided to reignite old flames and offered them protection in the form of some fusing at a discount. They'd have to pay me back again later, but hey, I'll take their word for it."

"The lesson? Don't deal with the Pokemafia. I hear they stuff you inside a Cloyster for 24 hours if you double cross 'em. Yikes."

"Merirua is a Pokemon fused from the base forms of Lucario and Zoroark, with a sprig of Mew tossed into the gene pool. It is a prankster by nature, but sports a sense of justice as well. Just an unbridled bundle of chaos really. You won't know if its scheming something or if its genuinely gonna support you. But, I suppose that's part of its charm."
