Excelo Region Legend Excerpt: The Extinction
"Many millions of years ago, over 75% of all life came to an end. It is not known what brought about this catastrophe, though there are many theories present. The most plausible of these answers traces back to a sudden rise in number of the extraterrestrial Pokemon Turmoid and Destryudas. They all arrived at the same time as the extinction event, perishing into a fossilized state along with every other prehistoric life form. Sudden masses of these Meteor Pokemon are not uncommon, but never once in history before has it occurred on such a scale. It's almost as if they were pulled to their untimely demise by force. Strong evidence points towards a massive crater found at the bottom of the Sea of Tethys. Further research is required to reach a conclusion..."
