Description
The last page of my last sketchbook from college! Tears ;.; This is a piece of gift art I did for Raveness in 2007 before Pokemon stole my soul. She is such a pretty dragon with such a musical spirit that seems rather evanescent to me. I tried to capture this with the wispy clouds and the heavy wing strokes. I find black dragons hard to color, this was good practice for me.I hope you like it, Raveness! It was certainly a pleasure to draw!

opinions/Critique:
the middle of the front wing draws the eye and leads it down the tail. and the upper part of the body is kind of lost due to the dark coloring. might embolden the color of the eye.
other then that it is very well detailed and very beautiful.

Wow, I love the wispy softness of the clouds and the way you drew the scales and shaded the wings and the head blades. Black is a very challenging color to use and not lose detail with anything besides water color.
This literally made me whisper wow out loud. Great job.

holy cheese i love this!!! black and purple are my favourite colors (at the moment) lol and once again you did perfectly coloring the black scales! i have another question for you...lol what do you use to outline the dragon with?

::laughs:: thank you! Black and purple are a great color combo, methinks. This piece was done entirely in colored pencils (mix of Prismacolor and Crayola). I used the black colored pencil of either one of those two brands, I can't remember which. Probably Crayola since I burn through black, and I'm cheap XD

ill have to get some crayola pencils...i always thought they wouldnt be good for really detailed drawings since theyre cheap but apparently i was wrong! lol yes i definately need a new black pencil too...xD
