Description Sol could have probably sassed the Reapers into extinction if somebody would have let her... Which makes me wonder what kind of trouble Shepard would have been in if she/he ended up with the other Vakarian kid. Good lord

I got a new Wacom Intuos5 tablet for my birthday and I haven't had a very good chance to try it out until now. It's pretty different from my old Wacom Bamboo Fun (the names should tell you how much of an upgrade I got even if they sound like another language >.>) and I've been having a lot of issues with the driver not installing properly, but I love it! Other than the pen not recognizing when I flip the ends from tip to eraser........... That's irritating.

But all of that is really just a massive excuse to draw a character I'm massively in love with even though she's BARELY canon! Dammit I would have loved to see some Vakarian sibling ass kicking. With or without the playful rivalry. Preferably with.

Vakarians like blue I guess. Brings out their eyes.

Great piece of art, but I feel like there's something wrong.


I think female Turians, while they do have a fringe, they aren't supposed to have a crest. My problem, is that in this way, Solana looks way too much like Garrus, without the pose and clothing, and wearing an armor, there would be very few differences between the two. Also, I think female Turians' mandibles are placed more backward than male ones', but maybe that's just me.


So in my head, it could be Solana with manly features, or... Garrus in girly clothes.

You have some very good points! Female turians are harder to differentiate from males this way, but the lack of a crest just bugged me to no end... As well as a couple of other things (boobs and the super thin neck). They do have a shorter crest than the males do with the way that I draw them, it's just difficult to tell since she's practically facing you head on in this drawing. I hadn't thought about the mandibles though! I'll have to take a look at some male/female turian references and check that out! It'd certainly add to the differences.

Somewhere along the lines though, I do believe I heard that females are harder to separate from the males in terms of looks. Might have just been a fanfic I was reading, but even in some real animals that's the case. And while the Dalatrass had some pretty covering robes, we can assume female salarians and male salarians look very similar.

Other than the chest/cowl being smaller, this could totally be a crossdressing Garrus though! XD He must have lost a bet with Shepard or something lol

That's not entirely true for Turians, Nyreen looks quite different to male Turians, and the female Turian in the DLC Citadel and also the Cabal in multiplayer are based of Nyreen's model. But anyway, I agree with the fact they aren't supposed to have boobs, I guess that's a small mishap with Nyreen's concept art but that might also be a part of her front shell (a VERY ROUND shell maybe). I have no problem with the thin neck though.


It might be hard to think that all female Turians are "bald", but it is plausible. Turians are avian in appearance, and among avian beings on Earth, males get the most physical features.

The crest might be a feature that's exclusive to males, according to BioWare's work, but that could also mean laziness for copying a base model a million times (I swear 90% of male Turians in ME3 have crests as long as Garrus').

I wish you could have picked up Sol as a squadmate, even a temporary one.  It would have been amazing! 

I'm in love with the outfit you gave her here! It suits here really well. Designing clothes for turians is hard, but you nailed it.

Thank you so much! I'm really glad you think so because designing clothes for turians is REALLY hard Exactly like you said lol Especially the ladies. All we have to look at is Nyreen and that one random lady in the Citadel DLC... Aelia, my OC, has been incredibly hard to come up with outfits for. The colors are the hardest though >.>

Yes, female turian outfits make me want to pull my hair out.  I was trying to think of one for an OC and nothing seems to look right.  The outfits we see in-game are both based on the same base and it looks like it's half armor to me!  Which would sort of make sense for a soldier I guess, but I wish they had shown us more casual turian clothes.  And formal turian clothes besides what Garrus wears in the DLC.

Just... More turian everything would be amazing *_* I've got all my fingers and toes crossed that they let us play as other races in ME4 and then learn more about their cultures as a result. It's not like they don't have playable bases for almost all of them already because of the multiplayer, though I don't know how all that works

You're welcome to use this outfit as a base for other casual outfits! And if I come up with any other ideas I'll be sure to let you know, though I often think all my outfits look the same >.> Usually it's just me lol

She would still be faithful once in a relationship with male Shep, though. It would be really awkward if (male) Shep was secretly with Sol while Garrus was with fem Shep. No wI really wanna see more male Shep x Sol stuff.

If I wasn't tired/already had more than enough projects to work on I'd totally start writing an AU for all of this... I really want too right now >.>

But yeah, she'd definitely be faithful! I do have to say though that the shock at the double Shepard/Vakarian pairing would be hilarious! I've always been a fan of two Shepards and they're siblings (ideally twins) so that just plays to my interests!

She had more of the "hating aliens" at the beginning of ME1. Not so much later, though. I would have loved to have male and female Turians at the beginning of it all!
