Description I wanted to draw something from Vivian's story, and so I decided to draw this! This is outside Glisten, Vivian's home village, it's also where the shrine to Emily of the Destined is located as you can see in the background. In The Story of the Destined, the Crystal Tower stood where Glisten is built, though these are the Freezing Plains, they have thawed out and become a more warmer climate since the times of The Destined.

Here marks the first appearance of Vivian as a child, in this, she is about five. She wears her hair differently compared to when she's an adult witch.
It's hard to be seen, but at the entrance of Glisten, there's an arch, an arch containing roses that bloom red. Vivian's mother Selena tends to and maintains these flowers. Throughout her time tending to the arch, she came across a rare instance in which one rose bloomed a pale blue. She was fascinated by it and told the Mayor about it. These were times before Vivian was born and Victas and Selena were still in good standing with him. He insisted that she keep the rose as a gift should she have a daughter (She only had Larson at the time and would soon be pregnant with Frieda) and so time passed and Frieda was born, but Frieda took no interest in wearing the rose, eventually Vivian was born. Vivian was teased and insulted due to having no wings, and Selena decided to give Vivian the blue rose. Vivian wore it to tie her hair into a ponytail, growing fond of it.

Selena felt that due to the rarity of the blue rose, it was ideal to give it to Vivian. It helped her feel better about herself, she lived among a very caring and loving family and was so thankful to the spirit of Emily for the rose and for her family.

However, years later the Mayor's son died from an unknown illness, and Vivian was blamed and ordered to be burned. Her father refused to hand her over, after Victas and the Mayor had an argument, he condemned the family and that night had their home burned down. The family did not survive, but Vivian was lucky to escape. Lungs full of smoke and weak, she collapsed a little way from Glisten.

When Vivian came around, she found she wasn't alone, she had been found by a coven of human witches. Startled at first, she was calmed and reassured by the Head Witch, Maythistle. The witches were unsure of having a dragon in their presence, but Maythistle heard Vivian's story and made an exception for Vivian, allowing her to stay, study and some day exact her revenge against the Mayor. Maythistle advised Vivian to remove her rose from her hair to avoid being identified and recognised by the other residents of Glisten should they see her. Vivian kept the rose close, even deciding to name herself Rosethorne whilst a witch, stating that though one can be captivated by the beauty of a rose, the thorn can strike surprisingly sharp to those unwary.
