I hadn't done a traditional painting in a while.... as much as I enjoy digital illustration, I feel like I need to get back to my roots now and then.

This one I actually kinda botched when I was starting it, and I had to change the technique a bit... this is on white clayboard (same as scratchboard but without black coating.) I had this cool watercolory idea but I thought I would do the sketch in light marker, shouldn't matter I thought. WRONG! It was waterproof marker and resisted the paint like a crayon.

It wasn't turning out very well so I decided to make lemons into lemonade and I did an acrylic painting over it. I like how it turned out but the actual painting has a bit more lumps and imperfections than I'd care for. Oh well, at least I was able to clean that up after I scanned it.
