The wooden clock next to her bed went off, sending an annoying ringing throughout the room. It vibrated from side to side and eventually toppled off the night stand, only to have the owner catch it in her paw; centimeters from the ground. Gwendolyn gently placed the clock onto the nightstand and groggily stumbled over to the notch she had settle the egg in. There was a small peep and she looked down, her eyes the size of saucers. In the bundle of blankets sat a small baby dragon. She gasped in excitement and joy before gingerly and slowly reaching out a paw towards the creature.

Gwendolyn gently placed a paw on the dragon's nose and it bucked it's head to get her off. She retrieved her hand and giggled in delight, suddenly realizing she had to give the dragon a name and figure out the gender. Gwendolyn rushed out of the room and disappeared somewhere in the trees, only to come back with a large, yet very thick book. She dropped it onto the ground and sat down, flipping throughout the pages.

She stopped at a section about the genders of dragons and quickly identified her drake. (Forgot what to call them) She was female, and the blue/teal color pattern on her was absolutely gorgeous to the furkin. Gwendolyn tapped her chin thoughtfully, trying to think of a suitable name for her new companion.
(She's a North American Flying Squirrel Hybrid with some other type of flying squirrel. X3 )
