Description The Enterprise was lost and presumed destroyed in 2329. The last reports received indicated that the crew had contracted a dangerous infection. What happened after the final transmission and the Enterprise's ultimate fate remain unknown...

In the 25th Century...

On board the U.S.S. Discovery NCC-100817, Proteus Class.

Lt. Selen: "Captain, Hansen. I am picking up a ship on my scanners. It is unpowered and drifting. The scanners show no life-signs on board."

Captain Hansen: "Mr. Vanlith. Bring us closer. Lt. L'Koli, arm weapons."

Vanlith and L'koli: "Aye, Captain!"

Captain Hansen: "Lt. Selen. We're closer now. What readings are you getting now?"

Lt. Selen: "My readings indicate that it is a Federation Starship."

Captain Hansen:"What? We're the first ship to explore this sector. Can you get an ID on her?"

Lt. Selen: "The ships transponder is not operating, however. The scanners are able to make out the registry markings on the hull."
"It is an Excelsior Class Starship. U.S.S. Enterprise, NCC-1701-B. Missing and presumed lost with all hands in 2329... 108 years ago."

Captain Hansen: "Commander Erikson. Send a message to Star Fleet... "

I've been wanting to do this one for a while now. Ever since I read the 'Haynes Owners' Workshop Manual for the USS Enterprise' section on the 1701-B.

Before anyone gets the knickers in a bunch. YES I know that this is not the Enterprise B as seen on film. It is how I envision her in my own humble little universe.
I was inspired by Celticarchie's piece here celticarchie.deviantart.com/ar… I kept some Enterprise B details that I liked, primarily the Warp Drive Nacelles, less the extra fins, but got rid of the add on Impulse Engines and the flare-out on the engineering hull. They really messed up her lines.
