In my quest to prove I'm A Bigger Fangirl Than You, I decided to embark on a mission to make a handful of Gru's outfits for my doll. (with the very good excuse of practicing dressing dolls)So here we have Spy Gru and Cutest Thing Since Puppies Gru. Complete with pan and dead guy pancake! Pray for me, because I've decided my final mission is to make a Space Suit for him.
I'm in the process of making a scarf for Normal Gru~ And you can't really see it because of the glare, but Gru's zipper charm is a sculpey copy I made the other day. Sadly, I couldn't find a zipper small enough for his jacket (3-4"), so I had to resort to hooks and eyes. Anybody know a store that might carry them that size?

I can make one, but probably only if someone asks for him. I'm pretty busy right now- can't make one for my own Inner Vector Fangirl! But he'd probably be pretty fun to make. <3

You did a wonderful job, I must say. All of this is terribly amusing, and just goes to show how wonderfully multi-talented you are. : )
As far as tiny zippers go...uh. Yeah, try wal-mart and hobby lobby. And a dollar general store if all else fails. Everything in a dollar store is cheap anyway - you could look for a coin purse or a cozmetics bag with tiny zipper. How small of a zipper do you need exactly, I might have something that could be salvaged myself.

But hey, I was thinking about it when I looked through some old stuff for a zipper - did you try eBay? Sometimes you can get good deals - and find some pretty obscure stuff, like a 3 inch zipper lol.
Maybe even buy something at a discount that will give you some zippers in bulk. Cause you probably plan on making your Gru doll some more clothes, right?
Maybe try looking for zippers, or tailoring items, or doll accessories.

No worries, I think I found an old coinpurse that would work I must have been insane to buy. Or really young. (pink with black leopard print, what) I'll check out Ebay if I get any more Gru orders. xD

You are insane. I can't imagine liking a kid's movie this much, but the effort that went into these is pretty awesome. I love the green buttons on his goggles, haha.

If you go to a store like Joanns or Hobby Lobby, they have a doll outfit section that has tiny zippers, or you can go buy cheap baby doll outfits from walmart and cut the zippers out :]

I looked in JoAnne's (it's where I get most of my fabric) but I couldn't locate any tiny zippers- but it wouldn't hurt to check again. You've got a good point about Walmart! xD I'll definitely remember that.
