These little guys were made on commission to go with this ratty [link] made a few months ago. The set is complete!I love making ratties for people, mostly because I get to geek out at the cuteness with other rat people

That's so sad! I always hate hearing ratties have passed. They have such short lifespans, it's ridiculous.

Wow what is her secret??? I've had a couple nearly hit 3 yrs, but they always leave too soon. My old-man rat, Bear, is two and a half now and going strong! He thinks he is still a kid rat
I have a friend who vowed never to get a rat because she wouldn't be able to deal with the short lifespan. That was until her husband brought home little Wilma, and now she is hooked. That rat is so spoiled

haha, dunno! Her dumbos from private breeders didn't live as long as the 2 boys we rescued from the feeder bin from the pet shop I worked at! One was an albino, the other black hooded. She spoils them rotten and they all eat the same pellet diet

Really? Interesting. Bear came from Petsmart along with his brother Zoro, but Zoro died at just 1 year old. But Bear just keeps right on truckin! He's the healthiest rat I have ever owned!
I do spoil Bear a lot. He gets soooo much attention since he is a single rat. (He has serious dominance issues so he never accepted any rat but Zoro) He gets lots of love, treats, veggies... he's such a happy little guy. He's going to live forever!!!

I love the dumbos! I had three beautiful blue dumbos. I was the only one who could tell them apart and they were the sweetest little guys! I only have one ratty right now. His cage buddy had to be put down so he is all alone but he hangs out with me pretty much all day. I've only ever had 4 at most but if I could I'd have a lot more! Ratties are the best!

Really? Is that kind of the norm with them or is yours just awesome? In general rats are really sweet, so that's why I love em. I have never been bitten by a rat, but every other rodent seems prone to do so

thats the norm with them, but it kinda depends on how they are raised too. I got one from a friend that didnt fool with it and was kinda mean to it and it bit my mom, but thats the only time they have bitten anyone in my family. I love them to death! My little Kovu is the sweetest. It was because of those evil hamsters biting me that I got them lol

Interesting. Where does one even acquire a Degu? I've never even seen them before! I would love to meet one sometime. And I agree, hamsters are monsters! Well most of em. I've had a couple really sweet ones, but man are they dumb as bricks
Can Kovu do any tricks? I've taught my ratty Bear to spin for a treat, and to jump through a hoop. He's a smart little guy

We used to have them at the pet store, but then they went out of business XD You can look on the internet for pet stores or even owners selling degus.
Kovu is pretty smart, but I only have taught her a couple tricks. She knows her name, will wlk on her hind legs for a treat, and i can get her to jump from my arm to my other arm as long as they arent too far apart. She is a good listener for any kind of animal.

C: Not as good as yours tho, turned out a bit messy and my cam sucks and so on.. But remember, it was one of my first clay animals, hopefully i'll be as good as you one day

Just keep on practicing! I am highly embarrassed by some of my earliest works, but you can only get better by making more and learning what works for you and what doesn't. I think you did a great job for this being one of your first animals. Keep up the good work!

I would love to make you some if you decide you'd really want them made. Ratties are my favorite thing to make besides dragons. Mostly cuz I get to see lots of cute ratty pics and geek out with the owner about their rats
