Description Here's the Redux version of Fox Reynard Clan with an updated look, old characters has been replaced new and better characters, improved origin story and team members' profile, and new background done by Autodesk Sketchbook Pro.

I've started last year and finished this year while I was busy writing and re-writing the information about them which it took me so long to work on (but not too long though) and looking for some source materials from the fabled book of Reynard the Fox as well.

As for the background, I took some inspiration from one of the Belgian castles as I've redrawn from the old background into this.

And as for new characters, I've replaced three old characters with new ones, the ones from the fabled book: Chanticleer the Rooster, Tiecelijn the Raven, and Grymbart the Vixen.

Enjoy my artwork, you guys!

Fox Reynard Clan is the European Deadly Alliance, Medieval Deadly Alliance, and Original Deadly Alliance as well the team member of the UN-GDI and the Virtues Knighthood. The clan of fabled anthropomorphic knights battle the evil forces of Taytos and the Caidoz Circle, using their mastery skills of trickery and deception.

Origins
Following the deception on King Nobel, the legendary trickster named Reynard the Fox and his wife, Hermeline, and their children escaped from the persecution to the wilderness and were never seen again. Twenty years later, they found their new home in the Kingdom of Taytus (which it’s near the border of the Kingdom of Vulpia) and started their normal lives though they were fully unaware of a brewing rebellion led by the mysterious “Grim Fox” and a possible civil war.

One day, Reynard was heading to the village nearby until he was encountered by his old rival, Isengrim the Wolf, and others like Bruun the Bear and Tybalt the Cat who were not very happy to see him again since they were humiliated by Reynard in the past. But Reynard is happy to oblige as he was ready to “fight” them until the Taytusian patrols spotted them on the road and Isengrim and his companions unintentionally killed them as they were so focused on Reynard. But when the fight was over, Reynard was “caught” by them and then slipped away from them but not before they noticed that all the patrols were slain. So Reynard went to the village, bought some supplies for the family, and headed back home. However, this was not the last time to see them again as troubles were brewing once again.

On the next day, Reynard and Hermeline’s children, Theo, Nicolette, and Tytos, were heading to the annual fair festival at the neutral region where it will soon to be occupied by the Taytusians while Hermeline was going to buy some groceries at the market where she was being followed by Isengrim’s wife, Hersent. Both have outwitted the Taytusians as their children survived the ambush while Hermeline had escaped custody after falsely accusing her for suspicion of being a member of the rebels with Hersent, abetting her cunning escape. Meanwhile, Reynard was visited by his cousin, Grimbert the Badger, who persuade to help the Grim Fox and the rebels and fight the Taytusians. But Reynard refused that time when his days of trickery were over for him until his family were convinced when they were involved in the troubles with them. Reynard reluctantly agreed to help the rebels, indirectly, as long as they don’t have to face Isengrim and others again.

For days, Reynard and his family sabotaged the Taytusians’ efforts to annex parts of the region, using their cunning tricks on the soldiers while robbing their supplies, capturing the outposts, and misdirecting the troops. However, they gave the credits to the Grim Fox and the rebels while Isengrim and his comrades knew that it was Reynard’s tricks.
But upon returning home, they saw the Vulpian village was raided by the Taytusians where they were killing the rebel sympathizers held there. Unable to watch the horror of killing the innocents, Reynard, Hermeline, and Grimbert entered the fray to stop the massacre, but Reynard’s children followed to help them though they were told to head back home. After the massacre was averted, Reynard became a hero to the Vulpians though he’s not part of Grim Fox’s rebel group until he was invited by Grim Fox himself in one-on-one combat at the deep forest alone. Reynard accepted the invitation and travelled to the deep forest of Taytus.

In the deep forest of Taytus at dusk, he first fought three rebel swordsman fair and square, disarming them one by one, and then he finally meet the Grim Fox himself and clashed each other in a fierce combat until the identity of Grim Fox was revealed to him: it was Reynard’s sister, Grymbart the Vixen and she was the leader of the rebels after all! Then Reynard was knocked unconscious and taken to the rebel camp.
In the rebel camp, Reynard finds himself tied up inside his sister’s tent which he freed himself shortly afterwards and finally sees his sister again for the first time in years since their sudden disappearance. In the unexpected family reunion, he was told that she had been hiding for years until she became the rebel leader to liberate parts of Vulpia from the Taytusians. Reynard and his family agreed to help but under one condition: he can bring Isengrim, Bruun, and Tybalt along with Belin the Ram, Tiecelijn the Raven, and Chantecler the Rooster just to name a few. To their surprise and after the explanations, they reluctantly joined the rebels to push the occupiers out of the region for weeks until they reached the Taytusian occupied-capital of Vulpor.

While they’re planning the final assault, they learned that King Leonel could not provide any support nor send his troops due to the turmoil within his royal court and uneasy relationship with other kingdoms so they were on their own to fight them (though that won’t stop him from summoning Reynard to his court.) Luckily, they’ve built an underground tunnel leading to the capital. With the preparations completed, they were ready to take down the Taytusians while Reynard had a perfect plan up from his sleeves.

At nightfall, Reynard and his fellow companions (Isengrim, Bruun, and Tybalt) made their way to the keep where the warlord is while his family accompanied by his sister will fight the foot soldiers on the streets, diverting from the keep. They fought their way to reach the inner sanctum where their warlord was and Reynard confronted him in a fierce battle until he pierced his sword through his heart. But after the battle, Reynard was suddenly captured by the Taytusian Knights and faced King Taytus the Third who kept his family and friends hostage and demanded to surrender or be executed in front of them. But Reynard had an idea, a brilliant and cunning idea and this was new to him. He successfully convinced him that his father hid the treasure in a faraway land in the north where he buried it under the snow. Reynard must lead the king to this “treasure” but under one condition: he must go alone with him without his guards. His friends and family were immediately released afterwards.

In a snowy forest, Reynard lured to his perfect trap for the king and tricked him by telling him to dive into one of the holes until he got stuck and Reynard snatched his keys leading to his treasure room; it was Reynard’s plan after all. He planned to steal his gold from the Taytusians and give it to the Vulpians. With all of the Taytusian treasures stolen while some reclaimed, Reynard returned to his family and friends.

Upon his return to Vulpia, he received a hero’s welcome now that the Taytusians were defeated and banished from the land they occupied. Then Reynard was greeted by King Vulpino the Third who branded him and his family and friends as a group of heroes. And, surprisingly, Reynard was officially “pardoned” as the request from King Leonel was denied and the charges were dropped, much to the dismay of Isengrim and others (except Tiecelijn). They also kept the Taytusian treasures as their reward as well and offered a new home in Vulpia. Reynard gladly accepted the wise (and clever tricky) old fox king’s offer and finally began to start a new life.

And thus, the Fox Reynard Clan was born.

Reynard’s legacy may be over but their adventures continue whenever they start trouble with the Taytusian and the Caidoz Circle which Reynard got into trouble with the Rhynorcian Kingdom.

On December 21, 2012, Reynard was suddenly being transported by the Fallen Star and found himself in the Belgian city of Ghent where he was surprisingly pursued by the local authority until he was tracked down by the Paranormal Division and brought to their base for questioning. After the interrogation and twisting his answers to their questions, Reynard was teamed-up with Drake Dragoon and others on the joint-operation in France.
After the joint-operation was a success, Reynard was reunited with his family and friends after the Planegate Portal was activated and joined forces with their new allies to fight the Monarch invaders. After the Monarchs' defeat, Reynard and his clan now reside in Fabelgem where there’s a hidden gateway to Vulpia in Antichthon while becoming a team member of the United Nations Global Defence Intelligence as well as part of the Deadly Alliance Initiative.

During the Cataclysm in 2017, Fox Reynard Clan fought the Sanctuary of Evil (the Warlords, the Order of the Black Dragon and the Brotherhood of Chaos) with the help of the Shining Knights while assisting the federal authority and former members of Alliance of Heroes in Europe.

After the Cataclysm, the Fox Reynard Clan now fights the forces of Chaos on both fronts when they disrupt the Black Arms smuggling operations and trafficking in the country.

Team Members
From left to right: Theo, Nicolette, Tytos, Hermeline, Hersent, Isengrime, Bruun, Reynard (leader), Tybalt, Grimbert, Chantecler, Grymbart, Tiecelijn, and Belin.

Reynard the Fox
The Foxling is the clan leader and the legendary cunning trickster. In a famous fable legend, Reynard has deceived his enemies with his devious tricks and perfect lies and murdered his victims including Coppe, daughter of Chantecler, and Cuweart the Hare at the end. After he masterfully tricked King Nobel, he and his family escaped into the wilderness and were never seen again. Twenty years later, they found a new home in the Kingdom of Taytus (near the border of the Kingdom of Vulpia) and lived happily and peacefully until he was tracked down by his old rivals including Isengrim the Wolf and was ordered to return to face his crimes in front of the royal court under the reign of King Leonel. But Reynard refused to return to face his crimes he committed in the past until he was later persuaded by his cousin, Grimbert the Badger, to join the rebels to fight against the Taytusians who have been terrorizing the people of Vulpia for years and reluctantly agreed to help them until he finally realized of his action. He became a hero to the Vulpians who fought the Taytusians and tricked their cruel ruler, King Taytus the Sixth, luring into a trap of a foxhole where the “treasure” was located in the middle of a snowy mountain. After the Taytusians were defeated, he was surprisingly pardoned by King Vulpos the Third and branded him and his clan a group of heroes. Now he will use his cunning tricks on his enemies to fight the injustice. Reynard is charming and charismatic but a dirty and smart liar.

Isengrim the Wolf
The Wolfen is an old rival and partner of Reynard the Fox. Isengrim was once a member of King Nobel’s royal court who was ordered to bring his arch rival for answering his crimes he committed by sending Bruun the Bear and Tybalt the Cat. In the past, he used to be friends with Reynard until he was tricked when his tail was caught in an icy lake. Then he was framed for the conspiracy against the king and thrown into prison with Bruun the Bear and Hersent the She-Wolf (Isengrim’s wife) and his feet were partially removed for Reynard’s shoes for the pilgrimage and later was released to freely hunt any relatives of both Reynard and Belin the Ram. He led his small army of angry nobles to hunt Reynard and his family but they were already left. Twenty years later after King Nobel’s passing, Isengrim became a mercenary leader while serving the royal court under the reign of King Leonel. But he vowed revenge on his arch rival to bring him to justice, one way or the other. However, things were not so easy as Isengrim became douthful to King Nobel’s son due to a political turmoil with other kingdoms until he received words that they have finally tracked Reynard and his family down at the Kingdom of Taytus where he and his fellow companions were reluctantly aiding the rebels with Reynard. After the Taytusians were defeated, Isengrim was about to bring Reynard into custody but he was “pardoned” by King Vulpino the Third after King Leonel’s request was denied, much to the disbelief of him. Despite that, Isengrim became a member of the Fox Reynard Clan as his partner. He may be a stern and stubborn Wolfen but he’s an honorable warrior.

Bruun the Bear
The Anthro-Bear is the strong fighter of the clan who wields his strong-hard wooden club. Bruun the Bear was the first noble who was sent by King Nobel to summon Reynard to the royal court, but he was lured into his trap when he was stuck on a split tree filled with honey and left behind, getting beaten by the human villagers. After he managed to escape by the river and returned to the royal court badly beaten, Bruun vowed revenge on Reynard for his trickery until he was accused of conspiring against King Nobel in the past and was thrown into prison with Isengrim. His skin was partially removed from him to make a pilgrim’s bag during his prison time and later was released to freely hunt any relatives of both Belin and Reynard. Twenty years later, Bruun and his comrades managed to track Reynard down in the Kingdom of Taytus but later joined the rebels to fight their common enemy to free parts of the Vulpian Kingdom. After the Taytusians’ defeat, Bruun became a member of the clan after King Leonel’s request was denied following King Vulpino the Third “pardoned” Reynard and his family. Bruun the Bear is a fearsome warrior but he has a heart of gold who loves honey but he better keep his nose safe after last time.

Tybalt the Cat
The Anthro-Cat or the Catling is the charming bard and skilled archer of the clan. Tybalt (or Tibert) the Cat was one of the nobles who was sent to bring Reynard to King Nobel’s court for answering his crimes but soon he got tricked by him when he was caught in the noose and cost his eye when he was beaten by the reverend and his family at night in the barn. After he returned to the royal court after that night, he swore revenge on Reynard for losing his eye and will bring justice to them until he and others like Isengrime and Bruun were accused of conspiring against King Nobel in the past, but was luckily ignored for his arrest who was left behind. Then later he was released and began to hunt Reynard down and have him hanged at his castle, but alas he was never found. Twenty years later, Tybalt and his fellow comrades tracked Reynard down in the Kingdom of Taytus on the request of King Leonel to bring him back to his father’s royal court but later joined him instead when they helped the rebels, convinced by Reynard’s truthful words. After the Taytusians’ defeat, Tybalt became a member of the Fox Reynard Clan and King Leonel’s request was cancelled by King Vulpino the Third after he “pardoned” Reynard for his actions. Tybalt is also known as “the Prince of Cats” as the title for his people.

Hermeline the Vixen
The Anthro-Vixen is the wife of Reynard and the mother of three children. Like her husband, Hermeline tricked her arch rival, Hersent the She-Wolf, whenever she had troubles with her. But after Reynard tricked King Nobel and escaped into the wilderness, she and her family found themselves in the Kingdom of Taytus and started a new life. Twenty years later, she was followed by Hersent at the village until she and her rival were arrested for suspicion and possibly involved with the rebels. But she escaped custody with Hersent and later joined the rebels indirectly requested by Grimbert the Badger until she was reunited by her sister-in-law, Grymbart the Vixen who was once called the Grim Fox during the rebellion against the Taytusians. After the Taytusians were defeated, her husband and family were “pardoned” by King Vulpino the Third after helping the Vulpians including children from brutal beatings from the Taytusians. Like Reynard, she is also a cunning trickster as she manipulated all male animals with her wits.

Theo the Fox
The young Foxing is the first son of Reynard and the skilled young swordsman of the family. Theo is a young lad who wants to become like his father who has been “adventuring” which he knows what he has done. After escaping into the wilderness with his family, they found their new home in the Kingdom of Taytus and started a new life. Twenty years later, Theo is a swordsman and an actual adventurer until he and his brother and sister got into troubles with the Taytusians when they were stopped in the middle of the woods and rescued by the rebels. Later he and his brother and sister joined the rebels and met the Grim Fox, who turned out to be their aunt, Grymbart the Vixen, and helped them to defeat the Taytusians and liberate parts of Vulpia. After the Taytusians are defeated, Theo becomes a valuable swordsman of the rebels though it is over but he proved himself to his father as a brave adventurer of the clan. His codename is Malebranche.

Nicolette the Vixen
The young Anthro-Vixen is the daughter of Reynard and the skilled archer with her magical crossbow on her hand. Nicolette is the third fox kit to be born after her brothers, Theo and Tytos. After her family escaped into the wilderness and found a new home in the Kingdom of Taytus, Nicolette began to learn about her father’s “adventuring” while she was taught by her mother to trick her opponents with manipulation and deception. Twenty years later, Nicolette learned her archery skill with a crossbow to win a simple contest at the festival near the border and won a prize. Although she was “falsely” accused of cheating, she tricked her opponents and exposed their cheating ways and got away with it, amazed by her brothers. But on their way back home, she and her brothers were stopped by the Taytusians and about to be arrested until they were rescued by the rebels and later joined them to free parts of Vulpia occupied by the Taytusians. After the Taytusians were defeated, Nicolette was praised by her parents and became part of the family clan. Her codename is Rovel.

Tytos the Fox
Another young Foxling is the second son of Reynard who is the clever thief of the clan. Tytos loves to play hide and seek with his siblings in the forest nearby their old home. Twenty years later after escaping into the wilderness and finding a new home in the Kingdom of Taytus, Tytos became a skilled thief and locksmith learned from his father and his “adventures.” During the fair festival, he pickpocketed several Taytusians and stole gold coins and other valuables and then bought some snacks from the Vulpians. But when he and his siblings were on their way back home, they were stopped and possibly caught by the angry Taytusians until they were rescued by the rebels and later joined them. With his skill as a thief, he can infiltrate the enemy castle and steal some valuable information and some shiny things from them and hide his tracks from guards and patrols. After the Taytusians were defeated, Tytos became a talented trickster and honorable thief of the clan who stole from the evil riches and gave it back to the poor, something very proud to his family and clan. His codename is Percehaie.

Grimbert the Badger
The Anthro-Badger is a humble cousin of Reynard. In a fable legend, Grimbert was the only one who made contact with him and his family due to the same animal species and brought Reynard to King Nobel’s court. After that, he left the gallows where his cousin was about to be executed though it was prevented by his greatest trick ever. Twenty years later, Grimbert returned to Reynard and his family after their troubles with the Taytusians and persuaded his cousin to join the rebel against their common enemy to save the Kingdom of Vulpia and their new home. After the defeat of the Taytusians, Grimbert stayed with them as a member of the Fox Reynard Clan. He may be a humble gentleman but also a humble fighter as he wields his big mace.

Hersent the She-Wolf
The She-Wolfen is the wife of Isengrim and the rival of Hermeline. Like a rivalry between Isengrim and Reynard, Hersent the She-Wolf got tricked so many times by Hermeline whenever she got into trouble with her until she and her husband were arrested for conspiring against King Nobel which they were framed and partially removed their feet until later they were released and ordered to hunt down Reynard and his relatives. Unfortunately, they were nowhere to be found and Hersent was frustrated. Twenty years after King Nobel’s death, she became a bounty hunter as she hunted and captured her bounties, dead or alive, until she received the orders from King Leonel to bring Reynard from the Kingdom of Taytus to his royal court for answering his past crimes; But for Hersent, this was her opportunity to capture Hermeline once and for all. Unfortunately, after she tracked her rival down at the village, she was falsely arrested for being a collaborator for the rebels and about to be taken into prison until Hermeline freed her along the way and Hersent reluctantly aided her escape. Then she was summoned by her rival to help the rebels against the Taytusians and liberate parts of Vulpia. After the Taytusians were defeated, Hersent was about to arrest Hermeline but she was stopped by King Vulpino the Third when he officially “pardoned” Reynard and his family for their actions, much to her outrage over this. After she cooled herself down, she and her husband joined the clan. She may be stubborn like her husband and short-tempered, but she is an honorable and respected warrior.

Grymbart the Vixen
The Foxling is Reynard’s sister who is the master of ambushes. Grymbart the Vixen was part of Reynard’s family but wasn't involved in his devious deeds until they fled the kingdom after tricking King Nobel and she managed to escape into the wilderness from being hunted. During her twenty years in the wilderness, she found herself in the Kingdom of Taytus where she helped the rebel sympathizers from being hunted down but got into trouble with the authority for “abetting a known criminal” and escaped into the deep forest. Then she later found a rebel camp where she joined the group to liberate parts of the Kingdom of Vulpia and she agreed to help them. She has slain dozens of Taytusian warriors, assassinated their warlords, and disrupted their supply lines while freeing prisoners. When her rebel leader was killed in battle at the fort, she became their leader and known as “the Grim Fox” by the Taytusians due to their fear of her presence while she represented hope for their freedom. After she is reunited with her brother and his family, her time of rebellion is over now parts of the Vulpian Kingdom have been liberated. Like her brother, she is also cunning and smart but also fierce and learned the mastery of ambushes with Reynard’s tricks.

Chantecler the Rooster
The Avian-like Rooster is a fierce sword fighter of the clan. Chantecler was a father of eleven children including his daughter named Coppe who was killed by Reynard years ago. After Reynard and his family vanished without a trace, Chantecler remained as a leader of the land under the rule of Leonel, son of King Nobel, until he was challenged by Poco Loco of the Kingdom of Casiliskstein during the sunrise. However, he realized his error in his vanity when he didn’t crow in the morning and then finally beat Poco Loco and banished the Casiliskians from his land for good. Then, he received a letter from King Leonel to aid the rebels and the Kingdom of Vulpia which he reluctantly helped Reynard and his clan to defeat the Taytusians. After the Taytusians were defeated, Chantecler reluctantly joined the clan but remained as a leader of his land and had a new wife named Pheasant with two children.

Tiecelijn the Raven
The Avian-like Raven who is a skilled spy of the clan. Tiecelijn the Raven who notified King Nobel of treason against the royal court and framed Isengrim and Bruun. After Reynard and his family escaped into wilderness, Tiecelijn disappeared without a trace while he followed them to the Kingdom of Taytus where he helped the rebels with information for twenty years. Then, he was summoned by Reynard to help the rebels directly by spying on the Taytusians and their positions in the occupied parts of Vulpia. After the Taytusians were defeated, Tiecelijn gladly joined the clan as their spy. He acted mysteriously and nobody knows who he was, but rumor has it that he helped Reynard.

Belin the Ram
The Anthro-Ram who is a Cleric Class of the clan. In a fable legend, Belin the Ram was taken the bait by Reynard the Fox and brought the head of Cuweart the Hare instead of a letter from his pilgrim’s bag. Realizing that he’s been tricked by Reynard’s clever ruse and the consequences when King Nobel gave the full authorization of hunting down both Belin’s and Reynard’s relatives, he took all the blame of Cuweart’s murder and Reynard’s escape with mercy and regretted with the rest of his life. After King Nobel’s death, Belin has been hiding along with his remaining relatives in the Kingdom of Capricornia for twenty years until he received a pardon letter from King Leonel and granted him to find and bring Reynard to justice. Instead, he seeks revenge by putting at the mercy of him for what he has done for tricking him and letting him to escape. However, as a trained cleric, vengeance won’t solve anything. Only justice will serve his purpose. But after helping Reynard and his family to defeat the Taytusians and free parts of Vulpia, Belin was about to bring King Leonel for justice but it was quickly denied by King Vulpino the Third after he “pardoned” him for his past actions, much to his disappointment for this and justice has been denied. However, he was given another chance as he became a member of the clan but he must protect his family from a possible retaliation of King Leonel which didn't happen. Belin is a virtuous ram who defends the defenseless with his sword and holy magic.
