Description Here’s the second paid commission-for-points for MegaJeff1989 and this is the Guardians of the Tomb, sworn to keep the tomb sealed for thousands of years.

Although they are not part of Deadly Alliance Universe, I made a drawing for his idea of fanmade Metroidvania game based on the Minions of Set, set in the universe separated from Samurai Jack universe where you play as the former Champion of Set named Bakari who seeks revenge on the Children of Set while atoning his sins of the past for the death of his true father.

Adding to that are three allies of Bakari: Sefu (the blue one with Khopesh), Aziza (the red one with her bow and arrow and a club attached to her left armband), and Sadiki the Set Animal. He asked me to add them including their faithful pet and I did.

Hope you like it, my friend. Enjoy my artwork! 😁

Thousands of years in Ancient Egypt, the Children of Set have conquered the kingdom with death and destruction, excommunicated with all gods but one and sealed the borders of the world. For fifty years, no one would dare to oppose them, even the Pharaoh of Set, until his wife secretly turned against his betrothed when she realized the wrongs her people have done and took her children away from him, fleeing the clutches of a ruthless tyrant. Then came the Champion of Set, the most powerful warrior wielding an axe who was sent to find and kill the remaining resistance fighters in Fayyum (modern-day Faiyum) where they made the last stand until he realized his fatal wrongdoing when he killed his father who was the last pharaoh of the free kingdom of Egypt. After the final battle has ended, this Minion has turned on his own kind when his human memory returned to him and fought his way out to escape but was heavily wounded after the bloody battle with the Army of Set.

However, fate gave this former champion a second chance as he was chosen by the Gods of Egypt to defeat his own kind and free the land but with a cost as he must use a weapon crafted by the gods that can hurt his own kind, even for himself. Then, he must find and gather the three pieces of the Golden Scarab of Khepri, an ancient object that it summons the Sun God Ra, before the Army of Set finds it first while his penance had begun to atone his sins by killing the Warriors of Set in cold blood although he had to deal with the rogue Children of the Gods as well. However, he wasn’t the only one who broke himself free from the chains of Set as he was accompanied by a wild Set Animal (Sha) during his quest to free Egypt and others former Minions have escaped from slavery. With the three pieces of the Golden Scarab gathered, he was teleported to the hidden tomb where the 26 former Children of Set including the Pharaoh of Set’s ex-wife live there, underneath the City of Set after all that time, and summoned the Sun God Ra in a final battle against the Children of Set and its Pharaoh. After a long battle in Ombos, they banished their own kind to the underworld and sealed away for good for thousands of years. With the tomb concealed, the former Pharaoh of Set’s wife sacrificed herself in order to create 27 statues with her free spirit, watching over the tomb. But as for the former Champion of Set, he started to live in the desert as a free spirit with his faithful companion at his side but they stayed away from the humans because of his form and have peace until the end of time, they were joined with other 26 free spirits from the tomb and watched over it for thousands of years.

Now in the 21st century, the Children of Set were freed and took over Egypt by storm and it is up to the four chosen ones of the Guardians of the Tomb to send them back from whence they came.

Bakari
Bakari is the 27th Guardian of the Tomb who is the axe-battler. He was once a son of the Last Pharaoh of free Egypt until he was abducted by the Children of Set at night when he was a baby, transforming into a mindless Champion of Set. He has slaughtered hundreds of brave warriors of Children of the Gods and the pharaoh’s great soldiers in cold blood without mercy until he’s broken free by the reaction when he murdered his father, the Last Pharaoh, and suddenly turned on his own kind in revenge. Revenge for the death of his father. Soon after the final battle with the Last Pharaoh’s army and the Army of Set, Bakari was on a brink of death but fate gave him a second chance when the Gods of Egypt chosen him with a path of redemption to atone his sins of the past by retrieving the Golden Scarab of Khepri and summoning the Sun God Ra as his penance. After his quest to free Egypt, Bakari’s spirit is freed but remains at his form when he started his new life in the deserts until the end of time, he joined with other 26 free spirits to watch over the tomb for thousands of years. But when the Children of Set were freed from imprisonment in the 21st century, Bakari was summoned along with Jabari, Aziza, and their faithful companion Sadiki to find and defeat them once more before they could take over the world. His name means “Noble oath” in Egyptian though ironically he broke that oath when he turned on his own kind and now he found a new and true noble oath to the Guardians of the Tomb.

Sefu
Sefu is one of three chosen Guardians of the Tomb and the skilled swordsman and magic-user. Sefu was born to be an heir to the throne to become the next Pharaoh of Set, but his mother took him away when he was a little prince after she realized his people’s wrongdoing. Twenty years later, he and his sister, Aziza, were hidden in the tomb along with 23 former Children of Set while he was trained to fight against his evil father and taught with magic before Bakari appeared when he completed the Golden Scarab of Khepri. After the Children of Set were banished to the underworld, his spirit was freed from his father’s control and the influence of Set as he and his sister joined them to watch over the tomb for a thousand years. But in the 21st century when the Children of Set escaped from their prison, Sefu is fully trained to be a Guardian of the Tomb as he and his sister along with Bakari and Sadiki were summoned to find and defeat them once and for all. It’s ironic that Sefu didn’t see the world for a very long time until now, saving the world along the way. His name means “Sword” in Egyptian due to his swordsmanship with his favorite weapon, Khopesh.

Aziza
Aziza is one of three chosen Guardians of the Tomb and the master of archery and stealth. Aziza is the sister of Sefu and the daughter of the Pharaoh of Set’s wife until her mother realized her own kind’s evil deeds and she was taken away from her father. Twenty years later, she remained hidden with 23 former Children of Set and taught archery and hunting skill during that time until Bakari was summoned into the tomb deep beneath the city after he gathered the pieces of the Golden Scarab of Khepri to end her evil father’s reign of terror for good. After the Children of Set were banished to the underworld, Aziza and her brother were freed and their spirits joined with other free spirits to watch over the Tomb for thousands of years. But when the Children of Set were freed from their imprisonment in the 21st century, Aziza and her brother along with Bakari and Sadiki were summoned to hunt down the Children of Set and send them back from where they belong. Like her brother, she too wanted to see the world if it wasn’t for them when they were attempting to rule the world. Her name means “Precious” in Egyptian.

Sadiki
Sadiki is a faithful and loyal pet to the Guardians of the Tomb. He was an ordinary but rare wild Set Animal known as Sha, scavenging for food to survive until he came across Bakari in the middle of deserts and accompanied him throughout his journey. After the Children of Set were banished to the underworld and concealed the tomb, Sadiki stayed with Bakari until the end of time when they joined with other free spirits. Sadiki is also a fearless beast, protecting his masters from any danger and battling alongside them against his foes they face. His name means “faithful” in Egyptian.
