Description

Seal dragons are piscivorous creatures of less than a meter in size, with a chubby body, short limbs, round heads and large eyes, they have a semiaquatic lifestyle, inhabitants of cold and temperate regions. It's kind comes from an ancient divergent branch of tetrapods called "dragons" that evolved more than 400 million years ago, being not relative of any group of current or extinct tetrapods. Their wings reveal that ancestrally they were flying animals, but due to the adaptation to their new lifestyle they lost this ability and these are vestigial, being now used mainly for swimming.
