Note: I did not design this! This is Ploss, a pumpkinhead that I bought from DragonFireArt a couple days ago. c:
She's from this adoptable set (which is still open!) and all of Amy's pumpkinheads (a species of hers) have really cute & creative designs. Go grab one! Then they can be friends with my little Ploss here. x3
"They are happy curious creatures and they only eat fruit, mostly melons."
That pretty much sums Ploss up. She's female, about 2 years old, and approximately 2 feet tall [60 cm].
I'm guessing that she just likes to run around and bump into things and possibly try to eat them.
Her anatomy is like a cross between a sheep and a Chihuahua :'D
And speaking of her design, I put up some digitally-applied colors so that it's clear what her actual color scheme is. These sketches were just sloppily colored with some pencils that I picked almost at random :'D
The colors and marking guide (the little one with no mouth) are there in case I ask someone to draw her, or something. The colors can actually range from the samples given to the lighter ones I actually used.
Also, the exact markings on her neck and tail can vary slightly since the fur is long there and bound to get ruffled a bit. It just has to resemble the markings in the guide.
This isn't going to be one of those super-advanced characters with a fully-fledged personality and backstory and whatnot. I do not have the room for another OC like that. xD
Instead she'll just be a cute thing to draw when I'm bored -- sort of a "doodle buddy", like my friend Jestloo 's OC Laiten. (Except Laiten actually has a real personality haha)
I've only made a couple changes to her design -- I made her head white instead of tan (mainly because I'm too lazy to color it), and made her toes blocky in shape instead of pointy.
The first picture I drew of her was the one on the far left, with her plopped down on her bottom, and that was when I realized that pointy toes feel super unnatural for me to draw. |D
And I designed some paw pads, and I think her colors changed slightly, but other than those things I tried to keep her design as close as I could to what I paid for :3

Her name -- Ploss -- is derived from the phrase 'ploss blue', which I originally found on a page talking about different blue pigments. Now that I Google it, it's actually incredibly obscure. :'D
Oh well. I still love it.
I spent all day yesterday doodling pictures of her (as you can see) and researching to find a name. I was looking up different chemicals, especially, associated with blue paint.
The paint thing came from something Amy mentioned, of one of the other adoptables' design being inspired by her sister's idea to make it look like it was splashing around in paint. (I actually almost bought that other design haha)
And then paint made me think of dyes and chemicals and stuff, so off to Wikipedia I went. :'D
Yesterday I put up a poll with different names I was considering for use, and most of them were inspired by chemicals or minerals of some sort. Only four people besides myself voted, but I went with the name Ploss :3
This species is actually kinda perfect for me. When it comes to animals, my main grievance is the face -- darn snouts! But with Ploss I can just scribble a lopsided egg shape and it does nicely. Then I can focus on her body, which is more fun and easier :3

So yeah, like I mentioned she was designed by DragonFireArt !
is both a digital and traditonal artist and can draw a ton of different animals. She's also super creative; if there's one thing I love more than humanoid OC designs, it's 100% original animal designs.
She's one of the few artists I know on here who will come up with animal characters and designs that are completely new! Like smushing three animals into one, but skillfully. My favorite is probably Cheesecake, a character of hers who is a shark griffin and has an awesome design. And then of course there are these pumpkinhead guys, who are super diverse in design and anatomy!
Again, that adoptable set is open . ;3
