WHY!??Thats what a dragon would ask a man. You may ask, why what? He will just stare at you and ask again...why.
It is within his eyes that you will know what he is asking. Why does man fight each other over religion, for land, for money, for oil, for love. Why cant everyone have an open mind and realize that there is no normal, that everyone is strange and unique in their own way and the fool that teases you for not liking what you like are but a mere baby capable of voicing their frustration. Why are the ones in power afraid to lose that power? Only the strong survive and at some point in time, the strong become the weak and must submit to the next generation.
You may ask him...what about dragons themselves. They fill man's imagination with fire, hate, and power. He would answer, because that is man's belief. That man only knows dragons for fire, hate, and power because thats all man reconizes with dragons. What he fails to see is that dragons dont use their power against each other or to rule over each other, they use their power on their enemies, on a war they waged long ago. They only have one enemy, the one who rapes the world for nothing, the one who fights with no cause, the one who can destroy the world 500 times over...man.
My "Why" question for everyone is...Why are dragons seen as nerdy and geeky? Do geeks and nerds need to like something that would make them feel powerful? Is it a power thing like small men and women who drive huge SUVs or a fast sports car? Is it because of Dungeons and Dragons? Seriously, I dont know why. Maybe its because "normal" people are more interested in watching overpaid assholes throw a damned ball. Is there some book out there that would help explain to me what constitutes normal and being popular is exactly?

hmmm...A very interesting idea. I think this all could be answered in one word...Pride. All people want something to live for (being power or money or other things). They are so desperate to be worth something so they fight for something that that could be worth nothing...If that makes sense.

Well that's good news! And as for the "geek" part. I don't really care what the world thinks of me or what they label me. It makes no different to me what the word is. In fact I take "being different" as a complement

There is no normal. If there is, then that's being *not* normal. And dragons are not geeky. At least, not to me. Their original connotation is for wisdom and well-placed power - not mindless destruction.

Actually, given the other forms of Government. A dragon, atleast this dragon, supports a capitalist economy. Especially in the form that Ann Ryan toted in her novel, Atlas Shrugged. A economy where banks and big businesses are bailed out by the government is NOT a capitalist economy.
I dont know why everyone is against a capitalist economy. It is the one form of government that if you work hard, you will succeed, if your lazy, you wont get anywhere. (So is everyone becoming lazy and doesnt want to work toward a life goal?) Socialist and communist, everyone is treated fair, sooner or later, the hard workers wont care because the lazy are getting as much as them and it collapses.
The one thing dragons are, are self centered and dont really care for others well being so Socialist and communist are out. While capitalists would be how the economy would be run. A dictatorship is how dragons would govern themselves. And only appointed by fighting each other for the title.

personally I like communism better XD but capitalism has one major flaw, loser lose and winers keep winning, basically why I dont like it. But ddamn thats one massive rant, cant argue without lecturing yu with more history >.>

Communism on paper is a great form of government but in practice, it is one of the worst. So whats wrong if the loser loses and the winner keeps winning? Think of businesses as animals, the strongest heaviest animal nearly always wins the fight.
And even the biggest businesses do fall. For example, General Motors was the largest and most powerful car company in the world in the 1950s, last year it declared bankruptcy and only a government buyout saved them. America's steel industry as a whole was the industrial backbone of the world in the 1950s but because of greed and ignorance and not keeping up with the times and modernizing lead to the fall of the industry in the 1980s. Two of the most powerful railroads in their day, the Pennsylvania Railroad and New York Central, merged in a desperation to become profitable again but even under their merged name, Penn Central, the large railroad declared bankruptcy 2 years later.
The point being, even, lets say companies like BP, Exxon, or Walmart will some day fall. Oftentimes it is their own ignorance that destroys them. So the winning dont always keep winning.
So your telling me communist Russia was a success? Communist China? Socialist Europe isnt fairing too well. But yet, there is America with its evil capitalist economy that became the largest world player and super power in under 130 years.
Please explain to me why some bum playing video games should make the same as someone who busts their ass 60 hours a week. Explain to me why people came/come to the USA in droves legally and illegally to get a piece of the American dream. Explain to me how some people who started with next to nothing became some of the most powerful and richest people in the world.
I wouldnt really call this a rant...just constructive conversation. I kinda enjoy seeing what someone elses thoughts are. But really, LOL, this was suppose to be about dragons!

I must ask. Why do you think when America falls, the world falls? What is wrong with the rest of the world not being able to stand on its own without Americas help? I say if you want America seperate from the world, thats fine by me. America doesnt need to be the police of the world and doesnt need to send her industrial base overseas. I dont think dragons are THAT nobel and kind, more self centered than anything. In the case of Fafnir, he was a dwarf that turned into a dragon BECAUSE of his greed.
