The silence of a August morning is broken with the distant sound of an airhorn. Minutes later, the airhorn again breaks the mornings silence as the sky brightens with the coming sun. As the train crawls closer, the low throb of a pair of 645 prime movers gets louder. Birds flee in flight as the prime movers overtake all sounds. The power slowly trudges pass, following behind are 90 raggity empty stone cars for the quary at Carey. A few minutes later the train leaves the small Ohio town of Greenwich and all peace is restored. But not for long, another airhorn is heard in the distance. This time, the sun may beat the train.
