Description This was an interesting project. Our last one, in fact (glad that this class will be done Monday!) This was the "gouache-off" project. Basically, you paint in gouache very thickly, leaving blank bits of painting where you can still see paper underneath. Like a reverse stained glass window. Then you literally pour ink all over the painting. After the ink dries, you run the whole painting under a faucet, and the water takes off the ink that was on top of the thick gouache. The blank parts of the paper suck in the ink so it stays black. The effect is like grungy stained glass. It's pretty messy but fun.

So I painted an interesting moth I saw once.

Painted on cold press illustration board.

That's an interesting method of painting! And wow! The colour scheme on this works fantastically! And it's a very nice-looking moth, too!
