Description I've been playing Okamiden lately - it's awesome. Mostly it's like Okami...except with a lot more adorable. XD

So here, I painted Rooke the cat in okami style. I like how it turned out. The Japanese written there reads "Ru-ko", or, Rooke. XD

I was kinda hesitant of whether or not to put this, but I figured that it would be okay.

Rooke would probably be in the Katakana writing form, which is mainly used for non-japanese words like English names or word that don't have a japanese translation, like pizza. In such a case, it would either be ルーク　(Ru-ku) or　ルーコ (Ru-ko) depending on how you want it to be pronounced. Perhaps even ルック or ルッコ, which is basically Ru-ku or Ru-ko respectively, but with a more pronounced k sound instead of a longer u sound. It all depends on how you pronounce it really.

I just recently finished my first Japanese course in college, so I'm not an expert and anyone who knows better than me is welcome to correct me if I made a mistake.

Gah, now I just have this big rambly message... On the topic of the picture itself, it is very adorable. I commend you for trying a different style (and totally succeeding). The picture is very cute, and I can totally imagine Okami!Rooke racing around with Kabegami (I think that's the cat one) and messing with Issun. XD

Well, yes, I know all of that. I know that it would more likely be written in Katakana because it's a name, plus it's a foreign word too. And I know it would more likely be Ruku since the "u" sound usually follows a consonant that's cut short. I just liked the sound of Ruko better than Ruku, and I wanted to paint the name in Hiragana because the flowy shape of the letters fits a little better with the look of the piece, you know?

I want to play okamiden but i have a real pet peeve for 3d games on the ds. Instead of a windwaker remake, how about Okamiden on the WiiU or 3ds? The 3ds looks much nicer with 3d games.

My respect for you has gone up even more.

Apparently, I lost my Okamiden at my friend's house, but she recently found it again and gave it back to me! So I'm happy I can play the sequel of my favorite game! Never got around to beating Okamiden, but I've beaten Okami two times. Going for my third time! (Must get all of the stray beads...)

It's digitally painted, I used a brush set called Adohnis brushes.
