*heart* MAGIKARP! *heart* I love Magikarp! I'm so neurotic about it, I can't go even ONE pokemon without having one in my team! He's my mainstay!

Still hard to level even AFTER evolving. But still, Gyarados is awesome! And I find Magikarp cute, so I prefer to hand-raise from baby. Makes it less likely to eat me, since I am nice to it xD. (specially since I usually catch the hot-blooded males XD)

XD so true! I train mine from a baby as well. Hopefully, it will remember that I treated it very kindly and fed it much love.

It will, they always do. I wish we could adopt from an abandoned pokemon shelter. I wouldn't mind the extra challenge, 'specially since more likely than not I will be too far away from the starter town...

I've heard stories of some pokemons attitude drastically changing upon evolution though! Scary to think about. Well, I travel a lot, and I am far from my home region. Hm, I should consider any shelters or abandon pokemon. I wonder if abandoned pokemon just return to being wild after awhile.. or if shelters would need to exist.

Yeah, but the giant Karp that was friends with the Orange Islands Joy still remembered her. I think if the Karp is at max happy with you, when it evolves, it will still remember you.
Well, I mean, it could, but the shelters are like the equivalent of the humane society, right? Some might be too used to life with human to go back. ...ah, I would like to claim some of the so-called useless pokemon and train them myself...
