Hmmmm I used to draw a lot when I was a little kid, but then I stopped and picked up art again back in 9th grade where my art teacher taught me realism. Soo....maybe 5 years?

College. It takes up all of my life now. Also, I mainly did art because I was taking art classes in high school. Now that I'm not in any art classes, I don't have any incentive to do it other than when I'm free.

Oh. I have like 5-6 years until college/university. (I'm 13 now.)
Well, I hope you can try your best to create more artwork. I really love them!

How do you draw the hair so realistically?
๐: 0 โฉ: 1
Dragoslayer4 In reply to Anime-Dreamer93 [2012-12-11 17:36:25 +0000 UTC]
Hmmmm not sure. It always came pretty naturally for me. I start with darks and then go to the lights while moving the pencil like it was actually hair.

Wow. IT did? wow. How do you get all the proportions so exact? o.o
๐: 0 โฉ: 1
Dragoslayer4 In reply to Anime-Dreamer93 [2013-01-12 09:09:48 +0000 UTC]
Grids. They're like my best friends! Haha. I'm lazy so trying to get proportions correct without them are kinda hard work, so I hardly ever do serious drawings without them. There are rare occasions though, in which case I just eye it and if it doesn't look right then I just fix it 'til I'm satisfied.

Anime-Dreamer93 In reply to Dragoslayer4 [2013-01-13 18:11:59 +0000 UTC]
OH my gosh! haha Me too! Grids makes life so much easier! Now I understand why we'll need math in everything. XD haha even art. Geez! I feel the same way. ALthough I am mainly focusing on how to draw people without a grid because I want to train myself not to use the grid. If that make sense. XD But doing commissions I feel that I have to make a grid to make it perfect. Hey! I am curious! What kind of pencils do you use? My drawings always turn out to be very light. I can't ever get the darks.

Dragoslayer4 In reply to Anime-Dreamer93 [2013-01-13 21:37:28 +0000 UTC]
Haha I know! I'm here multiplying, dividing, and subtracting to get the grids perfect. I sometimes think to myself, "Wow, all this for art?" And yes I do understand how you feel. You see those people who just PERFECTLY sketch a person and make it look so easy. But uhhh I mainly use H, HB, and 2B/3B pencils. H for lights, sharpened 2B/3B for blacks, and HB for everything in between. I used to have the same problem as you. I would always draw too light because I only used a regular #2 pencil. I hope this helps.
