"Yesterday I placed my shotgun on the front porch, gave it six shells, and noticing it had no legs, placed it in a wheelchair to help it get around. I left it alone and went about my business.
While I was gone, the mailman delivered my mail, the boy across the street picked up my yard, a girl walked her dog down the street, and quite a few cars stopped at the stop sign near my house.
After 10 hours, I checked on the shotgun. It was still sitting in the wheelchair. It had not rolled outside and It had not killed anyone in spite of many opportunities that had been presented. It had not even loaded itself.
Can you imagine how surprised I was with all the hype about how dangerous guns are and how they kill people? Either the media is wrong and the killing is by people misusing guns or I'm in possession of the laziest gun in the world. So now I'm off to check on my spoons, because I hear they make people fat."
The spoon never moved either.

Yeahhhhhhh sorry your stats are complete horse shit. Car accidents cause exponentially more deaths than guns in the USA.
The deaths involving firearms in 2014 were around 38,000, which btw includes justifiable homicide. Deaths caused by the US medical system? Over 700,000.

I'm fine with people using guns to hunt... but even I wouldn't need a fully-automatic semi-machine gun for hunting, unless I'm hunting the jerk who cut me off on the freeway.
The definition of "gun" in relation to the 2nd Amendment needs some long overdue review. I'm surprised no one's tried to prove that "the right to bear arms" includes nuclear armaments yet.

I saw several gang-bangers walk into a gun store in Tucson - it was hilarious. By the time they made it to the counter there were about 12 people (at least 4 of whom were match-grade experts) with lines of fire on them. Not one unholstered a weapon, not one even looked aggressive.
But the gang-bangers looked around and saw a LOT of smiling people looking at them, every one of which had a pistol of one sort or another strapped on.
They turned around and left. We were all kinda disappointed.
When everyone is armed, everyone is safer. Anyone goes nuts and they'll be blown away before they can do anything more than get one shot off. As happens repeatedly when criminals run into armed citizens.
