Personality: Keeps to herself often, but doesn't mind being put in charge or addressing a crowd. To acquaintances and strangers she is perceived as stoic, strict and possibly humorless...for the most part. She loves teasing anyone she is fond of, and can be over-protective for their well-being that it borders on mama-bearish behavior.

Biography: On a nice summer afternoon, a couple went on a deer hunt and discovered a baby with prickly skin left underneath a thorn bush. The couple adopted the strange baby girl, and introduced her to their older sons as their new baby sister. For the most part, "Laura" had a normal childhood, and her prickly skin never appeared during those tender years. By nine years of age, she discovered her "oddity" and to the child-like amusement she would prick, pinch and "seat tack" (put the bards on someone seat and wait for them to sit on it) friends and family with the barbs she harvested off her skin. Eventually the rude prankster behavior was strongly discouraged and Laura lived her late childhood years as an obedient, studious but somewhat lonely girl (No one found that pricking shit funny. Those barbs hurt like a bitch)

While most of her victims just stopped dropping by to visit, some were curious as to know how she developed "porcupine skin". Simple curiosity turned to malicious intent in the form of bullying, isolation and death threats for Laura and her family. The family eventually moved to a new location, but Laura's emotional and physical scars remained. At thirteen, Laura was putting up two faces: one with smiles, laughter and a good things and another of gloom, anxiety and self-hatred. Her family could only tolerate her oddity and hoped that it goes away on its own. They kept her occupied with studies, music, church and hunting, which helped her adjust as a normal girl. But tragedy struck when during an innocent game of wrestling, Laura stuck her brother with her first poisonous barb. He died instantly, and a panic stricken Laura runs away. Weeks passes and she returned home in despair for the death of her brother. Her parents were elated to have her back, fully unaware that she was the cause of their son's demise. When questioned about the accident, Laura fearing rejection lied to her parents, saying a snake bit her brother and she ran away afraid of being bitten. They believed her.

Another year passes with no incident, but Laura more grew distant from her family. At this point, the eldest brother would antagonize Laura for her cowardly actions; he believed his brother would still be alive if she had not panicked and run away. One day, on the same spot in the woods where Laura’s brother died---- Laura quietly mourning his passing while laying daisies on the ground, the eldest brother passes by and angrily kicks the flowers away. A violent argument ensues, and the eldest brother pushes Laura to the ground, calling her a murderer and a coward. Enraged, Laura struck him with full force lethal jab to the chest, killing him instantly. She runs away once again, leaving this time evidence of her crime.

She did return home one day, only to find herself running for her life from her father and two other hunters, who convinced the family that Laura was too dangerous to be kept alive. A broken arm, and two rifle wounds to the left leg, she managed to escape with her life. Wandering on her own for two years, she was rescued by an ex-marine turned mercenary and his elderly mother. In exchange for keeping his mother company, the mercenary taught Laura his skills. Laura, at some point lend her natural ability to trap and kill wild beasts that ventured to close to their home. Neither the elderly mother nor the mercenary mind as long as it did the job. A little battle crazy with occasional bouts of PSTD, the mercenary believed every kid should learn to wield guns and fight like Chuck Norris on a bender. With time, Laura became an expert killer, joined the military after Mr. ex-marine was admitted into a mental hospital and his mother passed away, and singlehandedly finished off an entire town in uprising.

At the age of twenty- three, Laura became a full-time mercenary. Every so often she will bring an orphaned child to her former parents’ home. In return, she is greeted with a shower of bullets. In her mind, she is asking for their forgiveness.

The nice ranch where these orphans are being raised is going into foreclosure (and some legal adoption issues as well) Laura joined the League in the hopes of nabbing a huge cash prize……or an army to finish off the people responsible for giving the family grief.
