Description I don't think I've ever posted a full picture of this particular piece bar a zoomed in test shot.

Its the King Arms version of the Colt M4 CQB with Sun Project barrel mounted M203 launcher.

A short barrel version of the m203 probably would suit it better but the long sun project one is one that lay in my spares box or years so I might as well get some use of it.

Taken with a Canon 500D with stock 18-55 kit lens.

That's my #1 favorite weapon combo: M4 M203 w/ Acog.

It'd be my weapon for a foreign invasion, zombie apocalypse, or anything else.

Nice pic btw

Thanks, in a world of RIS and superlight rails theres just something appealing about the simple old school set-ups.

Looks very similar to what I carried once upon a time. Nice shot by the way.

Thanks a lot =]

I'm guessing what you carried would have been a little longer barrel wise ?

I carried a standard M4A1 with select fire to full auto and the full sized M203. We were using the non-powered ACOG 4x32, an AN/PEQ-2A laser and in some cases a surefire light with IR cap.
This is/was the standard personal weapon of U.S. Navy Riverine personnel from 2006 until now. There are some variations in optics and lights now. Only a few designated personnel carry the M203 attachment, such as Boat Captains, designated Grenadiers and Squad Leaders.

Cheers.

Nice but how do you pull out the mag?
Never figured out where the mag release is on the M4

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Drake-UK In reply to SiloZen [2011-07-18 12:28:23 +0000 UTC]

The actual mag release is on the opposite side of the gun in the same position as the thin horizontal plate below the bolt catch as seen above.

You can buy after market ambidextrous mag release catches that replace the thin plate but I don't have one fitted on this particular gun.

I didn't know you could buy ambidextrous ones, wouldn't you have to replace the lower receiver?

Drake-UK In reply to SiloZen [2011-07-18 13:03:43 +0000 UTC]

Naa it basically replaces the existing one [link] some modern after market AR's have them fitted at standard.

Actually, I'm lefty and I prefer the mag release the way it is, I just use my right thumb while pulling the mag out. For me, preferred over using trigger finger. It might be a little cumbersome with the M203, though.

I'm exactly the same (a lefty that is).

Its made by a company that makes gear for the IDF (allegedly) then re-branded Team-Alpha.IE and can be bought here [link]

Hope that helps =]

Oh these King Arms M4s are very nice and realistic

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Drake-UK In reply to TOneil [2011-07-16 14:31:53 +0000 UTC]

Yeah they are a lot nicer (and cheaper) than most the competitors offerings plus they have a nice locking/releasable bolt feature and a more accurate colored body.

The only downside was the original LE style stock was really wobbly on the stock tube but I swapped that out as soon as I got it with an old school colt stock.

I think i have the same( okay not same but similar) M4A1 with M203 and ACOG.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Drake-UK In reply to Kweonza [2011-07-15 12:32:23 +0000 UTC]

Coolbeans =] I going for a sort of classic green side seal loadout and an M4a1 would probably be closer to the style of M4's they'd use but hopefully I can pull it off ok with this.

Kweonza In reply to Drake-UK [2011-10-19 07:28:19 +0000 UTC]

Looks like yours have shorter barrel than M4A1...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Drake-UK In reply to Kweonza [2011-10-19 14:34:47 +0000 UTC]

Yes, like I said an m4a1 would be closer to the seal greenside look but I hoped be able to get away with the look even with mine having the shorter barrel.
