Drake6401 — Happy Birthday Ashy!

Description Collab credits:

 Idea, sketch, and management.
 Line art.
 Color, shading, and a few line art enhancements.
 Background, and extra effects.

     I'n not sure how well I time this but, Ashy is a day ahead of me so I putting it out now.  Axe-Cell came up with the idea for us 4 to work on a collab for Ashy's birthday.  I really like the final result. 

     The sketch was a good concept and idea.  It was pretty much what I was expecting to see which is good.

     The line art was slightly disappointing to me. I kinda questioned Sonnie's dedication to the project or she was going by the sketch too much.  Axe-Cell was aiming for the sketch to be simply a quick concept and I'm not sure she got the idea.  Sorry Sonnie,  I'm just putting all my honest thoughts.  It still came out good and was enough for hasbean to come in.

     Hasbean did the best to me.  She got a lot of things I was worried about out of the way. She added a lot of the issues that I saw in the line art like fingers, hair depth, and a few patterns on Luna.  She faded the bottom of the characters which was exactly what I was hoping for.  She did the shading too which I though I was gonna have to do.  I was very pleased with her results.

     I was done in about 30 minutes so I didn't have to go out of my way.  I added a glow behind each character that matches them.  Roslans color was a pit hard to highlight so he has 2 layers going into it.  The background is basic but, I think it's plenty for the image.  I was expecting Hasbean to do less so i was planning on working with Crisis's details like her head.  I had to add the blue stripe on her wing myself.

   Anyways, I enjoyed doing this with you guys .  Hope you like it Ashy but, I'm just about 100% sure you will.  Lets be reasonable here

Sorry to be the last to chime in.. But the BG and effects you did are great! I love the sparkles/ smudges around Luna best! That really describes her as a light source. And the smudge lights around Celeste makes her look angelic. Awesome! I oppologise for having missed the blue stripe on crisis's wing. I was going to add the glow for her blue markings but forgot by the end

I apologies if you were supposed to do the Shading....I guess there was a little confusion in the rush of it all.   To be honest I have to thank SonnieJaye for taking on the line art. I know that can be a pain. To be honest everything I added was just my OCD / Perfectionism kicking in. But even I had to cut it short for time. I would honestly love to do this kind of thing again with you guys, perhaps without a deadline next time.

I got started the second you sent it to me so we had about 2 days to spare.  That background didn't take any hard work like my others but Axe-Cell made a good choice in the design and you saw all the details I did so that worked out worked out great.

I noticed how bright she was but, Crisis glows like that when a nuclear shot is on the way.  That would be bad since she's kinda looking at Luna  I like the color you used and I took advantage of it by adding central glow to the image to make sense of it.  

Don't worry about the shading part, I'm glad you did it.  You're better at everything over me so the more you do the better.  I came in after you and made a few small tough ups.  Once the dark background was in, I could notice a few places where the eraser tool missed.  I got all those buffed out and a few minor things that are so small there not worth mentioning.

Anyway it was fun and Ashy sure loved that we all took part in it.

Can't get past your critiques can I? Not that I mind them, however you caught my attention when you questioned my dedication. It took a p big chunk of my day not to mention I added/made alterations on everyone because there was a lot I couldn't see very well on the sketch. Alas, I won't ramble on about it. The most important thing is that it came out well at the end and she loves it so I'm pretty content.

I should be the one taking the blame for the rather messy sketch in the beginning, honestly. T`was my fault that I didn't make the sketch clearer for you to see, so.... Drake6401 , take it easy there. She may've been the one who did the line-art for this piece, but I was the one who gave her the sketch. And that was my sketch too, so the fault's on me.

Still, SonnieJaye , you have my thanks for being a part of this collaboration. I sincerely apologise that you had to work on this gift with quite a lot of your time, judging from the way that you worded it.

Ya'll come the the aid when I get strict  That's good though.  I've just been a little rough to maybe receive some critical judgment. 

I'm not sure if you got to see each phase but, I just noticed how much line editing Hasbean did to not even be the one in charge of lines.  A few things were missing such as the divide between Roslan's hair and ear, his nose,  the gold on Artemis's crystal ball, and a few things on Luna.  Crisis and Artemisia didn't have any thing missing though.

I guess I see it as, the lines were her job so she should had completed it so we wouldn't have to edit the lines.  Ya'll haven't seen my control side before so I've always been a cram with this stuff.

Sounds like someone is in need to taking a chill pill when it comes to getting the work done. I'm glad that I took care of the management... to some extent, of course.

Honestly, I never did notice any changes.... I'll have to dig through my Notes for the coloured piece that HASBEAN did and compare it to this one to see the difference in line-art.

Still, just because a small detail or two regarding these characters are missing, it doesn't necessarily mean that we have become so perfectionist with it. I've seen a lot of people draw my character Roslan wrongly plenty of times in the past (the two bands on his sleeves, his tailcoat becoming as short as a miniskirt when its supposed to go below his knees), so... you could say that I've become linear whenever another person overlooks his details.

You should see how hard I am on myself.  ya'll would hate me if I was that hard to you guys  I didn't do enough on this to had made a big flaw since my part was pretty easy.  Line art is hard, that's why I pasted it up.  I've also been unable to focus on anything recently so I've been a little frustrated with myself which kinda shows.

Ya'll let me have it if your disappointed with me, I don't mind.

You know, you could've mentioned that you weren't feeling well before we got on to doing this collaboration, right? Just take a break from your computer and do another activity until you feel that your artistic motivation has returned, friend. You've been pretty hard on yourself, judging from the way that you've worded it.

Besides, we all make mistakes from time to time. As what I'd tell my friends who feel bad about themselves: "Just vent it out." It works.

This collab was way too important to let my pity troubles ruin.  It was gonna get done in time even if I had to do the whole thing myself.  I knew I wouldn't be alone on it but, that just cleared up my dedication to this.

I know my final exams have been hittin' me left and right but, those are over now.  If I'm going to be doing commissions and trades, I'd better snap out of this lazy additude  I've had.  I'll figure out something.  I need a faster way to do lines because that's the boring part.  If I can speed that up, I'll have full work finished in hours instead of days.  Maybe I just need some sleep.  I've had to wake up really early for those tests in the last 4 days.

It's alright and you're welcome. I just didn't take to kindly to the "I question her dedication comment" since I am ALWAYS dedicated when doing artwork. Didn't help that I woke up to that as well XD I'm not putting any blame on you, for the most part all saw the majority rather well, it was just a few small parts that I couldn't see plus I didn't want to alter completely because I still wanted her to see your style in this without completely changing the entire thing. c: It wasn't bad at all though. I appreciate the kind words though.

Sorry Sonnie, I had been getting up early to drive to tests for 4 days strait and a lack of sleep gets to me.  I shouldn't had said that and I'm not gonna take an "It's okay" because it's not  .  I'm not the guy to apologize so that's the best I've got.  You weren't the only one I was hard on during those days.

You know, for the line-art stage, I'd actually planned to let you draw Artemisia doing whatever she wants in this picture. T`was my bad to have not mentioned that during the early stages of our collaboration, so it's still my fault, regardless. I just wanted everyone to incorporate a piece of their style into this piece to make more... special for Ashy.

You sneaky bunch, working togetherwithout me having the slightest clue all this time!? Wow, I can't even begin to explain how I feel right now. This is, just truly amazing.

The while thought and meaning behind this picture and the effort that must have gone into it is fantastic. The wonderful drawings of the characters, their positions and expressions is wonderful. Thank you Axe-Cell for the beautiful idea and drawing

The Lineart is great, and condo reign the time I know  it does take to do such work, it's looks great, so thank you SonnieJaye for contributing your time and showing your kindness by putting your time into this wonderful work

The colours and shading are perfect! The way Luna is the center of light and it reflects gently off every other character in the right way. Thank you HASBEAN for taking part in this and making it more beautiful

Last but not least, the added effects here just add that final perfect touch to a heartfelt gift. The glow around each character is gorgeous, especially on Luna and Celeste. Thank you very much Drake6401 for yet another wonderful gift you've contributed to me.

This gift means so much to me, and shows how lucky I am to be surrounded by loving deviants like yourselves. You've all shown me more love than I could ever hope for and I only hope I can return the favour. Thank you, all of you for dedicating time to this just me me, silly ole me.

I voted for Axe-Cell to post it but I think the either all 3 wanted me to or at least 2 so I did.  I'm glad Axe-Cell did this because the gift I had in mind for you wasn't coming fast.  I couldn't seem to stay focused and motivated.  I didn't shut it down, I'll just work on it off and on.  Damnit now that I think about it, I can't seem to focus on anything.  I have about 4 images just sitting there 15% done.

I hate to get into things but, I was the one that did the reflections  Hasbean didn't know I was going to make the characters glow but if she did, she would had done the reflection knowing how she did everything I hoped she would.

Glad you like it though I knew you would.  I know you can thank me by not leaving and blanking out  Even if it seems things are at there lowest and you feel alone, Remember we're always here.  You'll never be alone.

Seeing as you were the last to add your part to the piece, it seems normal for you to have posted it As I've said before, you spoil me a lot with wonderful gifts, so you don't need to go to extreme lengths and put yourself through a heap of stress just for one gift.
