Description Another one knocked out in a couple of hours. Might move it to scraps since it's not very well refined.

Some dragons, well versed in magic, learn the ability to shapeshift. For whatever reasons – perhaps curiosity, intelligence gathering (be it for malignant or benevolent purposes) or to hide from persecution – some dragons chose to masquerade as humans or members of another sentient race (possibly one of the half-beast races, but never elves since through their magical nature they can sense one that does not belong amongst their number). Sometimes for extended periods of time running into years. Occasionally these 'hidden dragons' become involved with the opposite sex, often with their partner being unaware of their nature, and the offspring of this strange union is a half dragon.

Many are strangled at birth but some rare individuals survive into adulthood – either through the compassion of their mother, or because their mixed nature was not immediately apparent. The appearance of a half dragon can vary wildly. Some are barely noticeable as different, with the odd patch of scales here or there, or perhaps they have horns, vestigial wings or a tail easily hidden beneath a cloak. Others are so strong in their dragon side that they can almost pass themselves off as dakrons!

Half dragons enjoy extended lifespans, a great affinity for magic, sometimes great strength and enhanced senses compared to the non-dragon half of their nature. However they are mostly shunned by both their component races and are usually forced to live solitary, lonely lives.

The half dragon pictured here is obviously one of those that doesn't have the option of hiding his nature and blending in...

Ahh, it's always so interesting to see people's adaptions of dragon DNA in other creatures, and halfbreeds. Especially yours, they always seem to come out more interesting than most!

Thank you! I like halfbreeds, there's so much possibility for variations (but then that's the same for dragons with me too!).

Exactlyyyy, they're wonderful! Even with the same two animals, there are so many different outcomes!

Wow, those must be some really smart dragons, to think of a thing like that!
Anyway, I like the design of this little guy. Was missin' your art!

I'm trying to get more drawing done... somehow I've ended up being very unproductive lately.

Oh, and why is that? Is something bothering you?

Nothing major, just all my free time seems to vanish lately even though there's not that much going on. And then when I do get some time to draw, nothing much seems to come out! I just need to keep plugging away at it, I guess.

As a child I had a dream that I was a creature that looked almost just like this. I was sneaking through sewers. It's really cool for a drawing to remind me so much of a dream! I would like to meet him/her.

I love those sort of dreams, where you get to be something else. And it makes me happy this brought up that memory for you, it's kinda cool for a drawing to do that

I'd quite like to see and hear more of these guys.
The anatomy looks great, very muscular yet sleek and well balanced.

I'd like to embellish on them a bit more too.. I'll get around to it in due course.
And thanks! I've been working to improve my anatomy lately - there's still a ways to go (this picture certainly doesn't stand up to the 180o flip test) but I'm working on it!

Thank you! I quite enjoyed drawing this - it started as a bit of practice on anatomy (since I've been trying to improve on that area), but then I got into it
