Can you please tell me or recommand me books about Zlatohlav? I research about Slavic mythology and folklore. I have book SYMBOLISM OF ANIMALS IN SLAVIC FOLKLORE TRADITION by ALEXANDR GURA and there are many notes, hints and refferences aboit speciall snake who is lord or king of all snakes.

sorry but I dont know any book about it. first time I heard about Zlatohlav from song by Tomáš Kočko and Orchestr - Zlatohlav. And yes he is king of snakes.

Can you look around and do some digging for me? Please? Even that song has to have origin/background.

There is a russian song about snake Poloz who is also pictured as king of snakes. NEVESTA POLOZA.

I will be glad too for more about it but it seems to be repeatable in all cultures, that there is a Zlatohlav - snake vearing golden crown and he is a king of snakes and maybe all reptiles. Once i read an old Oravian story (Orava is part of Slovak country region) and there appear not Zlotaholav but snake king and... and tont remmeber it right but he was there as positive character offering a wisdom nadI think even treasures... but something goes wrong and he leaves forest where he lives and from that time that part of land withered. Uh... I hope I wrote it right in english But I can take photo of these few pages but it is in Slovak language.
