This collab was a treat to do from start to finish, Lulu and Lib are so fun and creative, I hope we work again together in the future!! <3

It was Tatu’s turn to shine, and Marek had especially kept his strongest horse for last, as he knew he would need all the help he could get on this last stretch. The young and well rested stallion had to be held back at first, excited by the adventure ahead. Marek, on the other end, was mostly excited about completing this said adventure. His whole body was sore, and it felt like he would permanently be stuck in this riding position forever. He was not used to being in the saddle for this long and for so many consecutive days. On top of all that, he had been sleeping in less than ideal conditions. Granted, last night, he had the pleasure of laying in a real bed, something he did not waste. He had slept for a good 14 hours, and was thankful he could rely on his groom to take care of everything else. Nonetheless, it would take more than that for him to recover from this journey.

Along the way, Marek had met Harper, a rider from Brazil, who he couldn’t help but worry for. This duo was certainly far from home and anything that looked like it. He had to remind himself that they had qualified for this race, and that they were more than capable of enduring such conditions. He had felt another tinge of worry for the second pair of rider and horse he met. This time, it was a man well into his sixties. He thought this man was quite brave to go through such rough trials and had to, again, remind himself of the criteria of qualification for this race. Truly, even if his worries came from genuine care for his fellow man, they were based in a little bit of prejudice.

He had barely realized how his way of thinking was wrong when he was surprised by something heavy falling on him and Tatu. It felt dark and cold, and the tiny avalanche stayed unyielding for a good couple of seconds. Stunned, him and his mount couldn’t help but freeze in place, too shocked to react any other way. Wow, if that hadn’t been karma, he didn’t know what it was. Concentrate on the aurora, Marek, concentrate.
