This morning I warmed up with a colored character sketches of Gwendolyn (aka Gwenn; she likes that extra N XD Adele's younger sister and Prof. Ratigan's sister-in-law... according to my fandom world)Dialogue
Gwenn *cough! cough!* "Adeeeele! Call off your brute in a suit! He's stinking up my hair!"
Adele "Padraic James! Be civil towards my baby sister!"
Both of them are in their 30's and Adele is still very protective of Gwenn even if she is a high-maintenance nuisance. XD

My sister-in-law is a seamstress and loves to sew clothing from the 1800-early 1900s so I have the luxury of having access to all kinds of patterns to look at for ideas ^^. I never really dress up in real life so it's fun to draw other people in nice clothes lol

(LOL that's so cute. My younger sister is a prankster, but she can hold her own. Gwenn kind of relies on Adele a lot emotionally)
Gwenn squeals as she embraced Dani in a hug. "Dana-Banana my pet! How is my first nephew to be?" She asked, straightening Dani's hair and blouse.

Danielle smiled. "I'm good, Auntie." She kissed her aunt's nose.
Ratigan smiled and nuzzled his eldest's hair. "She was so excited when we told her you were coming over."

"To say congratulations I wanted to take you and Adele shopping!" Gwenn announced, holding both Dani's and Adele's hand in the air.
Rarigan rolled his eyes. "On your husband number 3's tab I assume."
Gwenn shot him a nasty look. "Peter got a bonus recently if you must know. And a new girlfriend. We're divorced." She huffed.

Danielle looked sad and gave her aunt a gentle pat on the shoulder. "I'm so sorry, Auntie."
"Yes, I'm sorry as well, Miss Gwynn," Basil agreed.

Gwenn flashed a dismissive hand gesture. "Oh foo! I'm over it." She assured them. "I don't stay with men who don't appreciate me." She glared over her shoulder at Ratigan, unlike my big sister."
"You certainly appreciate three husbands worth of alimony." Ratigan pulled on his ciggarette (I forgot to draw his cigarette! Dummy!)
Gwenn forced a smile, putting her arms around Daniele and Adele "We're going to have a girls day!" She cheered.

Danielle smiled, but her smile didn't quite reach her eyes. She did not appreciate anyone saying her father didn't appreciate Adele, since she knew for a fact that he did. "That does sound lovely."

"Great!" Gwenn pulled them along. "To the shopping district!" She waved goodbye to Ratigan. "See you soon, dear brother-in-law."
Ratigan puffed on is cigarette pole. "Sit on a pin, dear sister-in-law." He chimed.
Gwenn huffed, escorting them into her auto.
The driver took off. Gwenn sighed with relief. "How did such a sourpuss sire a girl so sweet?" She asked, stroking Dani's raven hair."
"He's been making a conscious effort to better respect our marriage vows." Adele spoke in her husband's defense.
Gwenn huffed. "So he claims. Good thing for that fat wallet and broad chest, hu?" She elbowed Adele who failed to smile. Gwenn started to frown as well. "Oh cheer up. We're shopping!" She reminded her. "Gee, you look like you've gone up a dress size. " Gwenn mentioned, looking Adele over. "You're not pregnant again are you?"
Adele flushed with anger.

Danielle sat on her hands so Gwenn wouldn't see that she'd balled them into fists so tight, her claws were piercing her palms. "So...where in the shopping district are we going? I would definitely love a new dress."

Gwenn pulled out a map. "I have all the nice boutiques marked." She smiled. "I'm so glad you two agreed to go out with me today. I needed to forget about Peter and his young bau for a while. Men... why do we put up with them? You're lucky you found a good, honest guy, Dani. Why can't I be so lucky? Show me a rodent who actually wants to commit."

Danielle smiled. "I AM quite fortunate, aren't I?" She smiled. "I have the best husband." She rested her hand on her stomach. "And my baby is going to have the best father."

Gwenn sniffed back a tear. "Yes you both are very lucky." She burst into tears, sobbing into her pocket book.
Adele put a sympathetic arm around her shoulder. "Aw, Gwennie-Bee, what's the matter?"
"I thought Peter was going to be the one I start a family with" she squeaked out.
"But you always said you didn't want children." Adele recalled.
Gwenn shrugged. "I didn't want to get fat and dumped, but they always leave me anyways..."
"You know that's all nonsense Gennie puts in your head." Adele reminded her. "Men are terrible, but not their not all that terrible."

"You just have to keep looking." Adele assured her. "And STOP listening to our mother "
Gwenn sighed, dabbing her tears. "At least I always have cute outfits and you two."
The driver pulled over. "Thank you, Frank". Gwenn waved flirtatiously at him as he dropped them off. "You'll love this place, Adele. It's what your boutique could have been"
"I'll reopen one day." Adele grumbled.
They entered, greeted by a large array of clothes and accessories.

Danielle gasped as she looked at all the dresses. "Oh my word...I've always dreamed of having this many dresses."

"it's never too early to start a collection, darling." A male's voice replied from behind. He was a very tall rat with blue eyes, black neatly combed back hair and a strong physique. He wore black slacks, a white shirt and a blue waistcoat . Draped over his shoulder was measuring tape.
"Eddie!" Gwenn hugged the man. "Ladies, this is Mr. Ratskin, the owner and head tailor. Or he was, where have you been Eddie-bear? I've been dying to introduce you to my niece and sister."
"Oh... Out of town."he answered vaguely looking uncomfortable. He put on a smile. "You two have a lovely glow about you." Eddie motioned to Dani and Danielle.

Danielle smiled. "Thank you." She lovingly fingered a dress made of light pink taffeta. "This is gorgeous."

"that's one of my newest pieces." Eddie held the dress up to Danielle. "that color looks beautiful on you, darling. Maternity dresses are a specialty of mine-- and wedding dresses."
Adele nodded. "The seam work isn't shabby at all Mr.Gluskin." Adele commended. "Don't be offended but I only wear clothes I see, but I agree my daughter would look beautiful in your dress."
"A seamstress and a mother. I'm very impressed. You are certainly blessed to have both talent and a family. I've... Never been lucky enough in love to have children of my own... And I'm afraid there won't be many opportunities for me left." He looked sad for a moment then perked up. "Darling, try it on and any other dress you like. Your ain't here gets a frequent shopper's discount." He offered. Gwenn booped his nose playfully. "Aw, Eddie, you are such a sweetie. How have you stayed single?"
Eddie blushed. "I'm a lot to handle I guess."

Danielle smiled as she carefully took the dress and carried it to the dressing room. A few minutes later, she came out wearing the dress. "How do I look?"

Gwenn clapped, cheering with delight. "You look so cute!"
Adele looked her over. "Give us a twirl, baby doll " she instructed .

Danielle smiled and twirled around. However, when she stopped, her face turned green. "Ooh...my stomach did NOT need that." She quickly took the dress off; now in her bloomers and underthings, she ran to the bathroom. The older rodents could hear her retching from inside.

"oh dear..." Eddie frowned sympathetically. "Motherhood is never easy, is it?"
"No it's not." Adele rushed over to the bathroom and knocked. "I'm sorry, sweetie. Mummy wasn't thinking. Are you alright?"
"Poor baby... I'm just going to buy a dozen of Eddie's newest designs and you can try them on later when your stomach settles, okay, Pet?" Gwenn added.

Danielle moaned and washed her mouth out at the sink. "I'm fine. That sounds good, Auntie." She opened the door, practically falling over. "Ooh, so woozy..." She leaned against Adele like a crutch, squeaking like she was about to cry. "Mummy, I don't feel good..."

Adele held her upright. "It's okay, sweetie. We'll just head home and let you rest."
"I'll have the driver pull around." Gwenn announced. "Sorry to cut things short, Eddie. I'll be back to try on wedding dresses soon."
"But you're married, darling." He looked confused.
Gwenn winked at him. "Not anymore and a girl has to think about the future."
"Oh, that's wonderful, I mean, I'm sorry things didn't work out. I do hope your niece feels better. It's always a pleasure to see you in the store."
Gwenn laughed. "I know, I'm your highest paying customer."
Eddie's ears drooped. "Oh no, darling, it's not THAT. I well," Eddie choked on his words, fidgeting with his tie.
The driver honked the horn. "Okay, ladies, we can go home." Gwenn helped Adele balance Danielle as they returned to the car. Eddie watched them leave looking rather disappointed.
Are you alright, sweetie?" Adele asked, rubbing Danielle's back

Danielle smiled weakly. "I'm doing better now, thanks." She held her stomach. "I'm so sorry I ruined our girls' day."

Gwenn put her hand gently on Danielle's knee. "Aw, Pet. You didn't ruin anything. I dragged you out before really considering how you might feel today. I'm sorry. I was being selfish. I just wanted some cheering up."
"I think Gwenn acomplished what she wanted to anyways." Adele smiled at her sister. "You know, that Ratskin fellow was pretty sweet on you."
"Who Eddie? No... He's just flirty to win over sales."
Adele shook her head. "I don't know, I recognize that look in a man's eye. I've never seen an intelligent man's IQ drop at the sigt of a female like that since Basil first started dating Dani."

Gwenn twirled a white curl around her finger. "Hu. Maybe. He's an odd one though. What kind of a man sits around a dress shop all day wishing g he had a family? A pathetic one."
"You should give him a chance. He might not have the fattest wallet but he makes an honest living and he's nice. Odd, but nice..." Adele thought of an idea. "Maybe we could have Basil spy on him a little, find out what makes ol' Eddie Ratskin tick" She suggested.
"Hire your son-in-law to gather Intel on an single hunk?" Gwenn sounded shocked and appauled, but smiled. "That's brilliant. You're the smart sister. I'm the hot one." She smiled, excited. "Do you think your hubby is up for the task, Dani?"

Danielle shrugged. "I could ask him. Not sure if he'd go through with it though." She groaned as a fresh wave of nausea hit her stomach. "Oh..." She covered her mouth, trying not to vomit in the car. "Do you have a bucket?"

"Oh, no. Pull over, please." Gwenn begged the driver. He pulled over and quickly helped her out."
Adele rubbed her back. "Just let it out, sweetie.

Danielle moaned, clutching her stomach. She bent over and threw up in the road, accidentally splattering her boots and Adele's and Gwenn's shoes. "Sorry..."

Adele laughed. "Oh, I hated those shoes anyways. I only wear them because they look cute with this skirt." Adele assured her.
"I guess we're all going shoe shopping soon." Gwenn joked.

Danielle laughed, then finished vomiting up the contents of her stomach. "Ooh...I think I'm good now." She leaned on Adele as she practically fell back into the car. "Oh god...I am going to KILL Basil for doing this to me."

Adele laughed. "I swore the sane thing about your father and yet he still lives " she joked.
Gwenn's ears drooped. "Is it worth it? Having the child?"
Adele hugged her baby sister. "Of course it is. My children are my treasures." She assured her

Danielle smiled weakly and rested her head on her stepmother's shoulder. "Oh Mummy...I know I'm not your birth daughter, but I love you soooooo much...and I love you too, Auntie Gwenn."

"Aw, baby doll..." She held her close. "That never mattered to me."
Vedis rolled by on her tricycle and watched the scene unfold. She pulled over and skipped over.
"What's going on here, auntie Gwenn?"
"Oh hi, Vee-Bees!" Gwenn knelt down and scooped Vedis up in a hug. "Oh, we went shopping, but ugly ol' morning sickness starting popping up."
Vedis looked down at her shopping bags. "You went to Crazy Ratskin's?"
"Yes, well, we went to Ratskin's Boutique... Why?" Adele asked.
"You know he's a psychopath right?" Vedis informed them.
Gwenn gasped. "What?"
"Yeah. Eddie G. Ratskin is a deranged wedding obsessed psychopath. He kidnaps women to be his bride and if he refuses he saws them in half in his storage basement. They locked him in up in a loony bin because of it."
Gwenn started to hyperventialte. "Oh GOD!"
Adele scowled down at Vedis. "That's a HORRIBLE thing to say about a stranger, Vedis! Where did you hear this?"
"Kids at school and teachers!"
Adele rolled their eyes. "Because they're so reliable. I should ground you for being so vulgar."
"I'll prove it's true!" Vedis swore. "Uncle Basil doesn't have to be the only sleuth in the family."
Adele pinched the bridge of her nose. "No..."
"YES!" Vedis cheered.

Danielle groaned, leaning forward and throwing up in the bushes outside the Black estate. "Oh god...I thought I'd emptied out on the way here."
Ratigan came out. "What's all the kerfuffle out here?" He noticed his half-naked daughter vomiting in the bushes. "Oh no, poor Danna Banana." He pulled her into a gentle hug. "Morning sickness, or did your aunt's sense of fashion turn your stomach?"
"Morning sickness," Danielle moaned.
Ratigan stroked his daughter's hair, which now had chunks of vomit in it. "Poor thing." He half-carried her into the house. "Daddy will get his little honey bunny some peppermint oil to help settle her sick tummy, all right?"
"OK Daddy..."

Adele followed behind them, pulling Vedis with her. "Listen, we have enough to deal with in this family besides crazy stories. Behave for me, please." Adele held her stomach, still yet to show. "Stress isn't welcome here right now. Come help me and your father with your sister."
"Fine..." Vedis sighed. "But I'm still going to spy on Mr. Ratskin afterward." She schemed inwardly.
Gwenn dug in her perse and pulled out a fan. She waved a gentle gust of air in Danielle's face. "How does that feel, pet?"

Ratigan came back with a pink bottle, pouring the peppermint oil into a teaspoon. "Here you go, darling." He poured it into his eldest's throat.
Danielle smiled. "Thank you. I don't know what came over me. When Vee was talking about what Mr. Ratskin does to those ladies..."
Ratigan snorted, trying hard not to laugh. "Oh lordy, not those stories again. People have been saying that about Eddie Ratskin for years, and nobody has been able to come up with one shred of proof. Scotland Yard even investigated the basement of his shop AND his flat; not even a drop of blood on the walls."
