Four of us burn alone in the dark
But only two of us can see the light
A quartet of flames to create or destroy
Four little liars don't shine so bright

The truth of the darkness remains to be seen
when no one understands what the light really means

One of us shields ignorance
protecting it from any harm
One of us burns with obsession
ensnaring prey with a poisonous charm
One of us seethes with revenge
waiting in silence for a chance to come
And one of us hides the halo of depression
utterly broken by the rule of thumb

Using the light to disguise the darkness of the reality
If the fire burns strong, then so does the inhumanity
When we burn alone, we burn ever so bitterly
But when we burn together, it's the sweetest misery

No one can understand what the light really means
when the truth of the darkness remains to be seen

This is us, the quartet of fire
While we burn, we are so beautiful
in our own, special little way
But when we are extinguished,
and we will be soon
what will there be left to say?
