Cool picture!! I like the white on the dog chest very much!! Nice contrast with the realistic rendering of the remaining picture.

... and they both show a great technique!!! And yet I still prefer when a picture which is so strongly realistic include some anstract elements too... something where the eyes and the mind can rest a bit.

This drawing is so very cute.
I think you have done an excellent job on the eyes in both animals. They are very realistic looking in the way you have done the highlights in them. The muzzles of both animals are beautifully done also.
I think in the body and head areas if you add some cast shadows it would give them just a bit more volume and form. There is a tutorial in the groups tutorial folder that might help you in that area. It might be easier to see it in illustrations than reading a comment a mile long lol . inspiring-creation.deviantart.…
This drawing really tugs at my heart strings. The animals look like they are really looking at the viewer.

I wasn't sure if it would help since it was in black and white. I still have many problems with shadows and what colors to use for them now that I'm trying to do my work in color. Grey scale is easier to do them for me but when it comes to what colors to use in them I'm still a newbie there. lol

hahaahha no problem Pat, i think the most people have problems with shadows as they use color pencils.
But as we both keep drawing and improve or skills our works will be realistic on a day

I think you have done wonderful work on this one even if you feel it might need improvement .
It's very adorable and must really touch the heart of all animal lovers. I know it did mine.
I think reaching people emotionally in art is just as important an element in art as technique. We all definitely want to improve our techniques , but if it touches the heart or makes the viewer respond then the artist has accomplished his or her goal and the artwork has done it job .

I like very much the way you make snouts (with the reflections on the dog's nose in particular).
I haven't very much advice in head, maybe emphasize the shadows (to give more volumes)
