She sprouted much later than the others. My hydras don't grow all their heads/torsos at once; they are usually the result of injury.

I like the heads they have.
And their species can sprout heads from injuries, but chopping their heads all off would just do what happens to if you chop a human's head off

No, not like that. It's much more specific than that.
Β And much more complicated than a head just popping up, takes a long time, is quite painful, and consumes a /lot/ of energy.
A hand being cut off could result in warped, tendril-like appendages beginning to grow from the stump, or just the flesh continuing outwards pointlessly. Grown heads are often defective or simply fail to result in a thinking being (much like parasitic twins).
Way back before modern medicine was available to the hydras, it wasn't that unusual for members of the species to walk around looking like eldritch abominations, really. Particularly if they lived rough lifestyles.
This extra mass put extra strain on the creatures, making illness and early death a common occurrence. (Fucking miraculous the species survived really.)
They already start off pretty weird and with a lot of mouths to feed, so it's really best for them to nip any potential growth in the bud rather than risk it.
Thus, cauterizing wounds, even small ones, is the go-to for the hydra species.

Charlotte and jean are the two who look oldest/coldest.
They share control of the bottom bit, and each set of head controls the arm on her respective side.
The one in the centre, Rowan, is fortunate enough to have control of both at this time.

they are so cute, I think I know the oriantation of the hydra, 3 upper torso's, 2 arms on each torso and 2 head on the oter torso with one head on the middle torso
