Definitely my most humanoid alien yet, but I just loved the color scheme and over all design so much-I just had too!
I finally have my new computer and I'm mostly migrated over, still don't have any of my custom settings/brushes from the old one-but I do have CS6 and decided to test it out and relax a bit!

Hmmm, that's a hard question to answer, see people say I'm good at details, but to me I'm just painting what needs to be there, I never really thought of it as "extra work" or "details" but I guess I could just say that little things go a long way, for instance if you REALLY look at something, you'll see that there's a lot more there then you'd originally think.
For instance, take a leg for example, a lot of people would draw it like this: imgs.steps.dragoart.com/how-to… which is nice, get's the point across-everyone knows it's a leg right? But take a look at these pictures, healthyliving.azcentral.com/DM… and wordlist.languagepod101.com/wo… I know the last one is really over lit, but you see those soft, ever so slight shadows and highlights? Suggesting muscle, and bone? Something that's seemingly undetailed and flat (like a leg) is actually a structure like any other, full of angles, protrusions, indents and the like.
Once you can really start to see the detail in an un-detailed area, you'll excel on the very detailed ones c:
Study from life and references regardless of your style or medium and you'll do well c:

That's good advice, Thank you. c: I gave it a little test run today and though about it while I doodled. I find I very much do over simplify my shapes and details. I'm going to have to play with this idea more. Thanks for getting the cogs turning! c: I appreciate it.
