I like this shot very much because from the thombnail it looks like as if the girl is at somewhere high and looking below to earth.

This is full of intrigue... the first thing i wondered is what she is thinking about. She could be peaceful, sad, or happy for a reason only she knows in this picture... and the water looks like the earth when viewed from above, as if she is looking out over life.

Well, its a little burned in a few spots. But, I have to say its pretty well done. Nice definition. Focus is well done. Nice colors. Subject is very nice.

this has hit me as the best work i've seen all day. It is an extremely effective portrait because you've conveyed something essential about the subject while still keeping the shot interesting with GREAT composition and a really awesome background.
I might suggest cleaning your scanner bed unless those white flecks are in the actual image- they could be fish. Anyway- great focus on the subject by making her the "darker object" in the shot- we're drawn to her because she's detailed and less uniform than her surroundings; those details are what turn this from a good image to a great one. The way her wet hair clings to her neck, the delicate blending of her tan line as we see the whiter skin peeking out from her bikini, the chain of the necklace, even that little mole on her tummy are all marks of a fabulous attention to detail. If you haven't already gotten down on your knees and praised your camera, you should do so RIGHT NOW. what a great great clarity you've achieved here
what i think is awesome is the way light plays such an important role in making this a wonderful shot. The bright, washed out reflection of the water gradients nicely into a darker place where we can actually see little waves and rocks. the shadow of her face along her neck is REALLY neat and gives a great sense of depth.
My favorite part of this is her loose posture and the way her fingers are slightly curved... and how it leads our eye to the little disturbances in the water.

Wow, thanks for exhausting critique, anyway as I mentioned above, this is a snap shot. No posing, no lightning, only good eye for the moment
And btw - the picture is from digital camera, so no scanner cleaning is needed
P.S. Camera as a really cheap chunk is now being praised and worshipped..

It looks as though the girl is remembering past mistakes she's made. I like how the lighting is darker on the girl, which to me is the main focus of the picture. A terific shot.
