And pretty much useless (The Tokkori birds in the games didn't even give Kirby anything special when defeated).

Ik this is an old comment. But what about The Kirby Derby? He helped Kirby a lot in that episode to the point where if it wasn't for him, Kirby probably wouldn't of survived that race.

I think Tokkori actually likes Kirby, but doesn't really wanna tell anyone. I mean, if he really disliked Kirby, you'd think Kirby would be in his house at all?

He doesn't totally dislike Kirby so he's sharing a house with him.

Yeah. He also helped Kirby more than once, so that can also show his like for him. Like that time when he had to tell others to warn about Knuckle Joe who wanted to kill Kirby in episode 19.

Remember when I said Tokkori could actually like Kirby a bit? Well, I have a feeling I could be wrong; after I saw him do the unthinkable in Kirby Takes The Cake when he told Kirby a lie about everyone not liking him.
Keep in mind, I didn't watch that episode until yesterday.
