'nuff said.(I'm coding a game. I was working on the AI and it was driving me nuts, although it works now thankfully. I decided to take a break and, well, draw something gratuituous. Woohoo!)

At the moment I'm coding strictly for windows (trying out C# and XNA), but trying to keep things remotely tidy to keep the possibility of migrating to something else that's a bit more portable if I feel the urge. We'll see...

I see. I don't know too much about coding myself, but I got into a little of it when the Mugen 2D fighting engine was at it's peak in popularity. There was a program you could use to create your own character and have them square off with the likes of Ryu, Sol Badguy, and Terry Bogard, which I'm sure for most is a dream come true. So I'm assuming that your new avatar is what she would resemble? Is it an RPG or an Action/Adventure title?

Well... the original game was a Gauntlet clone, Gauntlet being a mid-eighties arcade game, 4 player top-down shooter/dungeon hack thing.
The new version's got some other stuff mixed in. I used to enjoy those "classic" old 2d brawl games, like Final Fight and Golden Axe, so I tried to mix in some elements from those. I added a melee button (instead of attacks being triggered by walking into monsters, which was kinda clunky) so you can do little combos of moves, and it's also possible to knock monsters over (and push them off cliffs, which I always found far more appealing than I ever should XD) now.
There might be some really crude RPG elements, but I wouldn't bank on it. I'm trying to keep it simple and "realistic", in the sense that I'd like it to be feasible for me to finish the thing... rather than end up feature creeping into oblivion as per usual.

That's understandable. I miss all those games too! I used to tee up Golden Axe and Final Fight all the time when I was younger. Then Gauntlet and the later Gauntlet Legends were all fun when I finally got to experience it. If I ever do a game, it'll be probably be via Flash as soon as I learn ActionScripting. Do you have any experience with that?
