not really linkara Exaggerates a lot and take a lot of thing out of context.. look maybe it is fact that I'm Mexican therfore I read a Translated version of the comic, and some of cheesiness of dialog was lost in translation but the thing is that the setting of the story and the way Frank miller portrays the characters makes a lot sense. it the not conventional portrayal of the characters. but frank miller never writes his stories in the regular continuity

Not exactly, according to Frank Miller himself, All-Star Batman and Robin is in continuity to follow after Batman: Year One, then to Batman/Spawn, then Dark Knight Returns (main reason), and THEN the Dark Knight Strikes Again. Given with what happens in this book, making it connected to The Dark Knight Returns makes even less sense.

Oh, but it does make sense in that continuity. the only one that that I thinks it seems to be quite contradictory is Dark Knight Strikes Again which seem more like a parody than an actual sequel to the DKR
I would say that all start is more connected to year one than Returns though it does have some interesting moment that make batman a more human and flaw character in Returns

Hard to say, because with the way how Dick was like near the end of DKR, it would explain why Dick was somewhat like that near the end...which again only makes things more messed up.
That's ironic with your point because in Year One, Batman was trying to be on good terms with Jim Gordon, but in ASBAR, its like Batman doesn't give a crap and wreaks havoc wherever he pleases. So it already contradicted Year One and the Dark Knight Returns with how the characters are portrayed, not to mention nothing was ever shown whatever happened to Barbara Gordon, who surprisingly has quite the potty mouth in the book O_o
