The pokemon are very peaceful creatures, spending most of their day floating slowly through still rivers. When they lay on the riverfloor, they resemble a bed of underwater flowers. They can be very affectionate, nuzzling against swimmers.

I freaking love manatees, If nintendo makes this *I hope they make a 3d version, almost like a portable pokemon battle revolution but actually catching pokemon and not importing them* this is on my top 10 "To catch" list.

To heck with a Dolphin pokemon, Manasea's where it's at. With its blubbery adorableness.

Such a simple and cute design. Everything about this Pokemon fits really well with real manatees: name, type, coloring, design, etc. I like how you did the flowers (they remind of of the flowers in Spongebob).
As someone mentioned below, I really like the how you incorporated plants growing on it into the design. Manatees are so slow, it is easy to image algae growing on them. Plus, they are herbivores so the algae could provide a nice snack. (I used a similar concept in my water sloth fakemon line).
Say, maybe Manasea could have Sap Sipper as a Dream world ability.
Also this Pokemon reminds me of Konata from Lucky star: blue and green coloring, closed eyes, :3 smile, etc.
