You're lucky you have cinemas ,where I live we had an ancient one with open roof so you have to wait till it's dark to start ,and the idiots who used to work there always start the movie when there's still light so you spend 10 to 15 minutes just listening ,and it used to play old foreign movies and the newest ones will be Arabic which I'm not very much interested in anyway ,I can go to cinema only if I was in Cairo ,the last movie I saw was Guardians of the Galaxy in 3D and it was an AWESOME experience ,I get my movies' fix from the internet or the satellite channels

Yes in the Summer daylight hours are longer .
I wish it was a drive-in cinema ,it's a regular one with seats and even if it was operational the temperature nowadays is unbearable .
I agree the advancements in technology now are amazing ,I have a VHS player and I used to rent VHS movies tapes back in the old days ,then I evolved and bought a DVD player ,now I have a more advanced settings : a 3D 40'' Samsung LED TV set , a 5.1 Philips Home Theater with Blu-ray player ,and WD TV Media Player ,just turn off the lights crank the volume up ,some beverages and enjoy.

wow your setup sound amazing!! i am still use early lcd type of tv, action movies usually have all those ghost-image blurry effect (same movie i saw in friends house don't have this problem), so i usually watch movies on my CRT bulky tv (which i play retro-game a lot), i don't have good sound setup, usually just use tv internal speakers... haha the media play i use has no brand, and very picky on movies if in high resolution, my tiny projector only used in winter as it turns extremely hot in summer, really don't want it explode when i watch movies....
yes i have also been through same path like you, vhs-svhs-dvd and now bluray on my ps3, still have many old vhs around, and countless dvds that about to obsolete, i should convert many of them into digital form so i can find movie quicker and use less electricity when watching to save environment.
no matter where we are in the world we all enjoy movies in same way

In MHO sound is more than half the experience ,I was very lucky to get my home theater (which was not extremely expensive like some other models) on a sale with 50% discount ,I was very skeptical but I took the chance and never regretted it and I was very pleased that the device and WD TV Media Player are both capable of decoding the newer audio codecs : ATMOS and DTS-HD ,when I up the volume the room shakes with the sound effects ,almost like in a cinema ,by the way the model of the device is Philips HTS3541 Home Theater Blu-ray Player 5.1 .
